Being able to research modules and modifiers without equipping it to a ship!

Research option is limited.

If you don’t have a particular ship, you can’t research a module, especially, if it can only be fitted on a ship that is unavailable.

Vigilant, Sirius, Tyrant are just a few examples.

Please, provide an addition or rework this feature, so that we have the ability to research any and all weapons and modules.

Well, it kinda doesnt make sense, why would you upgrade modules for a ship you dont have, thats like unnecessary pre-planing a plan. Not that its a bad suggestion or anything but it may be a bit over the top in grinding terms, even for me.

Illogical restrictions from developers.

I get your point. But let me get it like this. Your reasoning would also prohibit a player to buy a special weapon or module from the Store, unless if you would craft it first.

Of course, it doesn’t, but your question also applies to regular equipment. It’s basically the same.

We could always buy items in advance, without necessary ship classes in Store. Research is basically working the same, like now.

However, if I would go the other way, to radical approach, then you would not be able to buy any single item in advance, unless if you reached a certain rank with a ship to unlock those items.

You decide. ![:)](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/001j.png “:)”)

Well, it’s not up to me but, im just saying it seems like complicating to me. U’ll upgrade the module anyway to max once you get the ship with vouchers you can farm in like 3 days tops.

Is having an option to upgrade the module 2k per 2k vouchers each battle without the initial ship that important? I’m just interested in a simple explanation.

2k voucher per battles is a huge reward. Especially when it’s around 6k with license + premium ship.

But that’s not the problem.

Fact is that more and more items are available to only one specific ship.

Let’s say I want to play vigilant, and I need to upgrade my vacuum laser.

But for whatever reason, I don’t want to use that weapon (kinetic/EM missions for example)

Then I can’t research vacuum.

On another thought, just edit the topic to “being able to research modules and modifiers without equipping it to a ship” and ill put it up for review. Keeping it simple ![;)](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/002.png “;)”) ![:D](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/006j.png “:D”)

They said they have a technical issue that prevent them from doing this.

Having a virtual ship that can equip everything is the best solution to the problem.

Yes, I know. I agree. Something similar to Ellydium interface, but universal.

Yea but what if we had a all in one virtual ship or something that could make it available, that should fix the issue perhaps if we wanna talk about less work and more results done. #brainfarts lol

Equipped module research was developed at the begining for having them only on ships in battle slots. Then we changed it and added more freedom of choise, but the core of this still remains - the module should be equipped on a ship. It’s not so easy to redo it all, and the function seems not necessary. The only thing it gives is the ability to prepare some modules before going to higher ranks.

The only problem with it now is for ships that the modules don’t fit anything else like destroyers and the thermal beam which I ONLY use in spec ops so its always mk < 4 but I just have to be mindful to keep the vouchers for it instead of upgrading other modules that take that specific vouchers. (so, no, its not a biggy).

Are you aware that Spiral’s and Endeavour’s modules cannot be researched without using free loyalty vouchers?

So, you can only research a specific module, if you do not have enough free loyalty vouchers, but not vice versa?
