Balancing Halo launcher...

Hi ppl i have an idea about that halo’s blast radius…

 

It was anormaly big first time they released it (u can kill drones by just shooting the beacon) but when they nerfed it, its not even large enough to pass a barrier now (if your shields are down and if u turn your broadside to enemy with a barrier u can totally block it which is big advantage of brave pilots) also in pve it is lost its meanings, i cant kill that turrets stucked to eachother by shooting the middle have to shoot them down one by one which is definitly not for halo launcher’s kinda weapons type even eclipse launcher is has bigger blast ratio (120). What i am suggesting is making it 120-200 kinda blast ratio so it will be usefull both in pvp and pve. which is also this wont effect any pvp games negativly imo

I agree, it needed nerfing before but now seems too far the other way.

If anything it reminds me of the initial R8 dessfest. Slapping away at each others barriers doing nothing.

Also a disadvantage of any shield tank at the moment, the shield bubble will get hit barrier up or not.

Even seen the Antares with its multiple barriers negating all damage so not just the Brave that benefits from the greatly reduced splosion size.

 

Only needs the smallest of tweaks imo 5-10m or whatever is needed to bypass every dess type barrier.

+999 bc it is essentially pointless now. And the radiation damage is veeeery pointless still though. It is so low that even at maximum damage an inty can out-regen it. It’s only use is assists and uncloaking cloaked stuff.

Halo is fine. Destroyer deployable shield strength and radius are the problem, not the blast radius or damage of halo. And if you want a gun that deals significant damage to interceptors that you miss by a mile, use gravity or tempest.

Prob the best way to deal with this without lending more power to the halo launcher. If barrier radius reduced then surface area would have to be scaled down as well though. Otherwise barrier would be even more effective against regular weapons fire. Gauss shotting modules off unshielded dess is fun i dont want that taken away from me XD. Might generally take more skill to use barrier as well instead of the full range of invulnerable movement that the Antares can acheive, the ‘meh idc’ of the Brave’s massive hull tank and the ‘whoops oh well’ of the massive regen build Sibyl. Might even negate the need for durability reduction and the current slapfest that is R8 dess. Atm is is the little kid equivalent of screaming ‘u cant hit me, doesnt count, i got ma shield up’.
