I use drones constantly because of how versatile they are. Best way to use them is to keep your target too busy to do anything about them. I see too many Engineers lock on to me from long range and try for a drone harass; I just shoot their drones down with my drones and then go in for the kill.
If you’re an agile shiip like an Inty or Fighter, lure the drones behind cover and kill them. If you’re a slower ship they are harder to deal with, so I suggest either killing the parent or getting a more agile ally to help keep them off you.
Or go in guns blazing like I do.
Annoying little !@#$s, cant be killed with pulsar (lolol) and dance around frigates making it PitA to kill them. Tacklers drones are weaker and immobile, shouldnt those 2 be reversed?
p.s. gotta get myself an engie, these drones and eclipse, which is better than coil mortar because its heal gun with every stat higher except heating lolol.
Really, if you have a problem with an interceptor 1:1 vs Engee thats hardcore.
The Interceptor has a tons of more mobility, the engee should NEVER be able to shoot at Interceptor with Main Gun.
Usualy the skilled interceptor does the following:
Use extreme mobility to approach engee from behind.
AOE the engee using plasmabow or similar
==> all def drones are dead
- dances around the engee till engee is dead without getting 1 hit at all…
So the good interceptor kills the engee almost unharmed.
The unskilled interceptor:
approaches the engee frontal from 5000 distance.
gets fired by engee with positron and interceptor is on 50 % struture till it approaches the engee
Engee has attack drones locked on interceptor
engee kills interceptor unharmed
Problem is if you balance the unskilled interceptor to the engee, then the engee is dead…
So your entire argument boils down to 2 points: dont approach the frigate from the front (mostly true, but sometimes this is impossible), and then aoe down the drowns. What if your are one of the 2/3 interceptors classes without an aoe. Then the attack drones will out damage the interceptor every time no matter the build on the interceptor. So 2/3 classes cannot beat the attack drones is what your are saying. For a skill that doesnt take any aiming or button imput, to have it basically invalidate 2 classes by itself seems…strong.

You quoted someone then repeated essentially the same thing they said. Frigates/fighters getting buffed and interceptors are becoming near useless in every game mode.

ECMs are the tankiest interceptors in a raw dmg taken, if your ECM pops from 80% of frigate abilities, you should rethink the way you outfit them.
Even though interceptors are getting harder and harder to fly, they are still useful and effective, it is just now they do require a lot more skill and gamesense to fly

I’m doing fine in any interceptor, and I haven’t noticed any of the supposed nerfs. No matter which class or faction, interceptors promote tactical awareness, reflexes and fast strikes.
Also, when you have the speed you can choose when to fight and when not. If you have in front something you can’t take 1v1 solo, just find another target. You have the speed to do so.
Sadly, there are a lot of inty pilots who just know how to derp around guns blazing and doing nothing, except exploding. But I’m getting “fear me” medals daily in ceptors, while being on top of the eff list.
Good interceptor pilots can indeed one shot drones if your lucky, or only 2 shots within 500 meters with a shrapnel cannon.

Should be renamed to well geared. Also dont mind the engie with super precise and lightning fast coil mortar called eclipse launcher.

Noticing less and less engineers with Coil Mortars… more and more with the eclipse launcher. but like the old days when the COIL HUNG… Eclipse has a tendency to HEAT UP quickly…you get the same feeling… it always happens at worst time…

I agree, the eclipse overheats very quickly and most of the time when you’re about to deal the finishing blow, despite that i like it because now i’m able to shoot at any target more easily.
Heavy blaster engie: stronger than it sounds.
attack drones are really easy to kill with most weapons. If they are giving you problems, just kill them. The damage level from them is fine. if you die to attack drones, its your fault for not killing them first.
