And this is what happens when there is no consequence to quitting

The fact that you have to wait until the rest is also finished, and then another 4-5 minutes for the next match, which may not even be any better.

Hey, 5 minute to alt-tab out and do other things!

I was just giving an opinion

bt opinionz hurt mi feelss

Stop trying to treat the symptom, and treat the problem.

If people are disconnecting on purpose, then that means they have been presented with a match for which they perceive no positive outcome. This could mean one of several things, including but not limited to:

  • The scenario they have been given is not fun to play.
  • The matchmaking is so broken they don’t see any way to enjoy the match.
  • The rewards offered for staying are trivial to the point of not being worth their time.
  • They feel they are being abused by their teammates, or have reason to believe they will suffer abuse from their teammates.
  • They feel they are being abused by the opposing team, or have reason to believe they will suffer abuse from the opposing team.

Start with those, and start proposing solutions to those problems, and maybe your disconnect issue will go away.

These are valid reasons to leave, however I see far too pilots leave a game because, like residente said, they are too lazy to even try to win. I have seen my fair share of games where players ragequit because they believe they can’t win, when in reality, had they stayed and played as a team, they had a decent chance at winning. Players too often get fed up with dying over and over, so they quit. The simple solution to this is PLAY AS A TEAM!!! Focus fire, move together, protect your engie. If you start to do these things, you will notice a remarkable improvement in how games go. You may still lose, but you won’t lose nearly as badly, and you will get rewards for sticking in the battle and not wimping out/ragequitting.

We can’t add punishments for purposely leaving, as there is no way to differentiate between a ragequit/alt+f4 and a crash (if there was a way, punishments should be added). Instead, other solutions are present: matchmaker needs fixing, and/or people need to learn to play as a team. If either (or both) of those things happen, intentional disconnects will become less prevalent.

Seems this is an issue in another of Gaijin’s games.

I’ll say here what I said there:

Instead of penalizing people for quitting, find out why they quit and fix that instead.

I dissagree mate, I don’t think any “punishment” is needed.

I say this, as I will often leave a detonation match, I find them boring.

The above is just a bunch of guys who think they are out classed, so they leave.

No point in you naming and shaming them though…

You should never disconnect.  Ever.  You condemn your team to losing.

If you don’t find detonation matches exciting, either you never go for the bomb (in which case, yeah it’d be boring as xxxx) or you don’t protect your stations or die trying to get theirs.  Detonation is not boring at all.  Just learn how to play it.

But the only way to learn how to play that mode is to stop disconnecting.  How many detonation matches have you disconnected from, anyways?  I’ve had hundreds of deto matches…

Seems this is an issue in another of Gaijin’s games.

There are plenty of reasons on which we have no influence and that cannot be fixed by us. Some example: Issues with hardware or connection, player has to leave the computer/game for personal reasons, joining the wrong game mode and so on.

well, here is my suggestion of what to do with quitters, i didnt see this forum until after i submitted this one: [http://forum.star-conflict.com/index.php?/topic/25544-how-to-deal-with-disconnectors/](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/25544-how-to-deal-with-disconnectors/)

I fail to understand why players complain about the MM… It’s not like WOT where lower tier tanks can hardly scratch what is just above (and sometimes in the same tier). In SC, if they are 2-3 ranks above you can still hurt them. Modules/weapons choices as well as player’s skills matters a lot more IMO, not what they are flying.
