I hope that we can get a new option that allows the user to not receive any text messages or private text mails, except for the Event/Sale notifications and any messages coming directly from Administration.
So, if somebody wants to send me a private message, User gets notified that he’s unable to do so. This also solves some problems with bots spamming Private Text Mail.
Option to not receive any Private Text Messages should be added somewhere here.

You can block individual users, so that’s not an issue. For the particular case of spambots, I should hope the devs are working on a solution. My mailbox is almost worse than Jita local in Eve…
A better solution would be to have a cooldown on number of mails sent per minute, increasing as more and more mails are sent. If people want to have instant chat, they can whisper directly so there is no need to use messages too often.
Or limit the new user mail to a couple of people per hour, or even block their mail until they win a battle

Or block their mail until 20 battles ffs. I haaaaaaate logging in to all these spam mails now. I get like 10/day.
or make it “recive mail only by friends”

What i find way more interesting on this whole story is that we can´t block useres directly from the mail we recieve and that even the manual blocking seems not to work (i tried 10 times to block an user but it said that there was an error even when i typed the “name” (renamed-whatever numbe was here) correctly).
Anyhows… the real question is why did these GS-sellers appear now or better said relative short after the update for the market? Anyhow it shows that the mailing system needs an rework anyways cus you can´t do anything if the username isn´t accepted by the manual typing command and we can´t interact with the name during the mail reading at all. So the mails need the same options like opening the option on a name in the chat.

They came when the market came. And apparently the bot that posts all the mail is super sophisticated because it makes new accounts and names all the time and still sends the same mail to every pilot all the time. It must have hundreds of accounts now to be sending everyone mail so often. I think there’s something like a 3 minute wait between mails or something.
And the best part:
This also means that 100% of the devs’ “statistics” are made invalid and useless since they started.
I’m kinda glad because of that because they were all wrong to begin with. The bots just gave the community and argument against them.
That they came shortly after the market is pretty obvious so it was more a sarcastic question from my side ;).
Anyways it shows at least now that the mailing system has been totaly overlooked all the time cus it is so unintuitive that it already hurts lol.
