most people fly battle ships with lasers mounted that cn shoot 6000-7000 meter and this is ruining any team play
i suggest that all battle ships become one weapon that can strike at long distance ie jerico there torpido .wardens there shiper shot and federation needs one
but all other weapons on battleships must be reduced to 1500 2000 meters efective range
as in real life, battle ship anti -air cannons cant shoot down jets at 4km
we are not playing EVA with planet sized ship that can kill every thing alone
we have to return to a more team oriented game play
they dont need to rework the models, just the mass of the ships. that will give the more mobility, make combat faster pace, and solve some of the prophets.
tier 5 in open universe will be so fastly over powered, that anyone in anything other then it, will hate the game.
The tier 1-5 thing needs to be changed.
needs to go to role based ships, like in eve. (Ie frigate is t1 frigate, and assualt ship is t2 frigate (A slightly more tank-ish version)
I think you’re making the assumption that even if the game gets an open universe model, it will play like EVE. I know what you’re getting at, in EVE they are currently reworking the entire system so that there are not tiers of ships, but instead each ship in a class has it’s own different role. Thereby making ships less redundant, and suddenly the priciest battleship isn’t the most effective at everything; instead, it may simply be the most effective at close range combat.
But Star Conflict at it’s present stage, doesn’t have nearly a tenth of the immense features of EVE. This both understandable - EVE has been running for nearly eight years - and a good thing, a better flying clone of EVE isn’t what makes a game unique.
The fact that you may encounter Tier 5 frigates in your Tier 1 Fighter in an open universe does not seem like a huge worry. With current mechanics, you would simply outrun them and find another Tier 1 ship to fight. Otherwise, the incentive for spending months on getting a Tier 5 ship would be utterly lost, you would simply end up with a mine-laying version of the T1 frigate you already have.
Meeting the original discussion, you proposed in another thread that the damage received by ships should be reduced by as much as 70% (which would make hurting anything an arduos task, it takes a good deal of time as it is to eliminate a well flown fighter) which is unarguably a method to slow gameplay by a very large amount. Increasing mobility as well as this would do very much the opposite of making the game faster paced. Imagine spending four times as long trying to attack a ship, which is now moving four times as fast, thereby making it difficult to apply damage to in the first place.
Personally I propose very light aim assist modules for weapons like plasma weapons to make aiming less of a spray-and-hope-it-hits type task, and modules for fighters and frigates that allows slight increases in rotational movement, and decreases slowing speeds. The increased movement responses would be a welcome addition to pilots that prefer quick movement and avoidance tactics to pound-n-grind fights between high powered lasers. The more responsive plasma weapons would make close-quaters dog-fighting more enjoyable, as slightly less of your attention is kept on just keeping the cursor over the opponent.
