Ammunition Types

I’ve been having thoughts of craftable ammunition, but obviously different to the other kinds that are craftable. So here’s my idea. Obviously, each type of ammunition would be specific to a variety of weapons, so these ammunitions would be disabled for use on other weapons that deal the same damage type. In addition to this, no extra weapon damage would be cast upon the original effects, much like the usual ammunition types and obviously unlike the resonating crystal, which deals additional 7% of damage.

  • Available in Open Space Mysterious Container.
  • Available in Daily Reward Loot from Missions between 11-15.
  • Available in Special Operations Rare Loot - Defiler only.
  • May not be purchased.

Crafting

  • 9-13 Ammunition always requires 1x Neodium Ore. Costs 7 Iridium.
  • 11-14 Ammunition always requires 2x Neodium Ore. Costs 10 Iridium.
  • 13-15 Ammunition always requires 1x Neodium Ore, 1x Beryllium. Costs 13 Iridium.
  • All ammunition is crafted in sets of 3.

 

KINETIC:

Incendiary Rounds (Available between Ranks 9-13)

Deals an additional 5% thermal damage proportional to the damage dealt to the enemy over 3 seconds, stacking up to 25% per hit. Critical chance decreased by 4%.

AP Calibres (Available between Ranks 11-14)

Deals an additional 40% damage to target’s hull, but reduces projectile speed by 20%. Due to the capacity of these rounds, this ammunition may only be mounted on the Assault Railgun or Coil Mortar.

Supercharged Slugs (Available between Ranks 13-15)

Increases blast radius by 300 m, but decreases critical damage by 25%. This ammunition is specific to the Kinetic Supercharger.

 

THERMAL:

Polarised Crystal (Available between Ranks 9-13)

Decreases enemy’s shield resistances by 1 pt. per hit, stacking up to 15 pts, but increases weapon cooling time by 20%.

Low-Frequency Oscillator (Available between Ranks 11-14)

Stuns the enemy for 0.1 seconds, stacking up to 1 second for concentrated damage. Damage decreased by 9%. Due to the nature of this ammunition, this may only be mounted on the Ion Emitter or Beam Cannon.

Crystal Refractor (Available between Ranks 13-15)

Reduces the enemy’s acceleration and maneuverability by 40% for 1 second, but decreases damage by 4% and critical damage by 25%. This ammunition is specific to the Gravi-Beamer.

 

EM:

Ionized Charges (Available between Ranks 9-13)

Deals an additional 40% damage to enemy’s shield, however decreases time to weapon heating by 30%. Due to the nature of this ammunition, this may only be mounted on the Plasma Gun or the RF Blaster.

Static Charges (Available between Ranks 11-14)

Disables enemy’s locking systems for 0.1 seconds and increases critical chance by 10%. Due to the nature of this ammunition, this may only be mounted on the Flux Phaser, Singularity Cannon or Positron Cannon.

Overclocked Deflector (Available between Ranks 13-15)

Increases the “Eclipse” Launcher’s blast radius by 20% and heals an additional 15% of friendly ship’s hull per hit, but due to its projectile instability, increases spread by 1.7 deg. This ammunition is specific to the “Eclipse” Launcher.
