For two of my ships, the weapon is better used with aim assistance off because it makes the target jump all over and makes the shots inaccurate. But for my others the aim assistance is almost mandatory. Could you please make the option to switch auto-afterburners and aim-assist toggle please? I will never use auto-afterburners.
auto afterburners has a toggle in the keybinds. i have it set to a mouse button so i can fly without using the keyboard for the most part, letting me concentrate on strafing and fine controls with the keys
How does what I said look anything like what you read? I mean change it from the toggle of autoburn to toggle of aim-assist. I hate auto-afterburners, yet I constantly need to switch auto-aim off and on because of junky aiming.

what you wrote sounded like you didn’t know there was a auto afterburn toggle feature.
I agree with the suggestion tbh

Oh lol.
I know it exists and I hate everything about it.

topic made on that alien mode suggestion btw
Why does everyone keep bringing this up in my threads???
Hush for a bit. If they decide to implement it, cool. If not, hey, we can’t all be winners.

They may not understand english all too well. If I knew what aim assist did I’d care more about this but can’t hurt having more toggles.
Aim assist is what makes your weapons hit the target when you mouse over the little aiming circle. Weapons that involve homing charges or lasers do not need this feature. Also it is best to have this feature off when using my favourite weapon, the Phaser, because you can fire a bubble, but if an enemy or object moves I front of your crosshairs the detonation charge will miss.

ah that explains why when I use lasers with this on I do no damage unless it’s inside the circle.
I dont understand why there is an option to toggle it off at all, it benefit all weapons, even hitscan. Especially on >50 ping

Not really. It doesn’t work for lasers and it sometimes causes more misses than hits.
I tooooootally support this idea!!! brilliant one (im wonder why didnt i came with something like that in all the time ive played SC)

It benefits most weapons specially with high ping (otherwise you would have to lead a lot more, guess where your enemy will be in the future. For me aim assist is a must, because if i dont hit the tiny precise point (smaller than the circle) my shots go behind by a lot (if im with some spread gun i either hit 100% or 0%, no middle ground)), but it also prevents you to make small aiming adjustments (if i had less than 50 ping i would definantely turn aim assist off); remember the missile turrets from “Operation Ice belt”? those below the dreadnought in first round will have some edges in clear line of sight for empire LRFs that snipe from spawn, however since aim assist is on and the missile turret looks pretty small, all shots will be “re-aimed” to the center of the missile turret (wich is not vissible) and afterwards your shot will hit the wall and not the missile turret even if you aimed perfectly well. Aim assist used to be on only after locking a target (so i could happily snipe those turrets while removing lock right before shooting), but after devs implemented the lead circle on every ship in the radar, they realised players were missing way too many hits because those lead circles did not had aim assist (and with 150+ ping you will mostly miss all shots when aiming that circle, unless you really aim at the very center of it) and many players constantly have mid-high ping. So devs implemented aim assist for both locked and not-locked targets…which generates this problem. This wouldnt happen in the first place if shots werent delayed (according to your ping) and shot at the place you clicked…but thats another story devs will not deal with because of a possible hack abusse.
Also, how thedarkredfox says, some weapons get some silly proyectile “detour”…bubbles and phaser are some weapons that show this more evidently, but most proyectile weapons get convergence issues from time to time; i have even missed a cargo ship (yeah those big slow ones) with railguns while correctly aiming at one of its edges (shots went all over the screen, to the sides…not front -.-). I should start making suggestions for new-non-constant dmg-beam-type-hit-track-weapon, for the ones who cant play with decent ping.
