Quite simply add an afk status in the corporation page to pilots who are in hangar but away from their keyboards. (as well as friends list)
EDIT: You don’t need to show how long someone is afk, just thought of it as some icing.
Example:
Bob is online in hangar
Joe and Mary just went AFK, in hangar,
Frank has been AFK for 5 minutes already.
Jane has been offline for 1 min

it would be nice to know who is actually online ready to play.

Ever feel like your talking to a wall?

Also our corp just could not register to a dreadnought battle because some of our corp members were afk in hangar, and did not accept or decline the invitation, causing an error to pop up saying we could not register .
Yeah. People who have not clicked on anything or done anything for 5 minutes should be labeled as “AFK in hangar, 5 min” or something.
we’d have a lot of people in afk (wait times that exceed 5 minutes)
Increase it to 20 minutes before the afk status kicks in, and then we’re talking. :012j:
5 minutes is way too much for activating afk status. Around 1 minute is fine.

We couldn’t queue for dread fights today because of the invitation block mentioned by OP, so this would be a fine addition.
Sure. It’s always annoying to see twelve people in hangar and not know who you can actually invite to game.
+1 I’m AFK quite a bit between games on occasion. Would be nice to let people know I’m alt-tabbed out or whatever.
+1. We couldn’t queue for a dreadnought battle either because we sent an invite to a corpmate today and they were AFK.
would be a minor feature, but maybe taken into consideration

Our team liked this idea. Thanks a lot for it. We will keep it in mind for further evolving.

A manual option could help, but I say to test the auto afk system first before adding a “AFK” button to the hangar (or the corp page, not sure if either option would just add to the minor information overload)

I think the AFK button can be a really nice idea too
