I seam to be having issues with the adaptive camo module.
After activating it enemies are still able to attack me with homing missiles & effects.
I have tested multiple times, with no previous modules, and no weapons fire. I have tested a few times without using afterburners.
In a recent fight I activated the module then fired again after, intentionally. It did not even stop the enemies parasitic remodulator affect. All I was attempting to do was stop the affect.
However I have positively seen this module work for other players.
Also, don’t forget that Camo doesn’t make you invisible - you only disappear from the radar. So you can still be attacked by manual vision from the pilot. Unguided rockets can hit you, if the pilot knows how to aim. Lasers can hit you as well. And as finemw mentioned, preexisting effects are not cancelled. Also, modules such as Pulsar will always hit you, unless you are behind an obstable.

I had already reported both of this right after the previous patch came out. Antibus said it was working as intended that cruise missiles would still track you because they are smart missiles now. Other homing missiles should however lose lock (remember to move out of the way though, they’ll still hit you if you don’t).
As to the parasitic remodulator not getting canceled, Antibus said that was a bug. However, I thought it had been fixed in the meantime and I’m not sure if you said it didn’t cut it off before or after you fired. Once you fire you turn off your camo, that’s working as intended. Also make sure there was no spy drone on you or micro-locator near you, both of which prevent adaptive camo from working.
Too bad its not like the federation tacklers invisibility…then it would be actually like a Covert Op…
Going 700 m/s while fully stealthed so nobody can see your trail? I don’t see how that could be imba…
What effects are adaptive camo supposed to cancel upon activation? IIRC tackler’s TP and IB don’t get cancelled and that’s intended.
Those effects don’t require a lock (you need the lock to apply them but you can cancel lock afterwards and they stay on). Same as the ECM’s inhibitor. But everything that requires a lock to stay on should get canceled by the camo since it breaks lock.
My bad then, I don’t remember it lasting that long. When I use it, it feels like no time at all
It last about as long as it takes the recon to drop the locator on you.
Alas, the hard truth.
But back on topic, I think adaptive camo was one of the reasons why I stopped flying covops. I’m a tackler pilot, and my first inty was the recon, so I felt terribly cheated by adaptive camo. (I think my high minimum ping was also a factor… on a very good day my ping is stable at around 300. ECMs are more forgiving of high ping.)

Locator shows you on radar, but it doesn’t stop the camo. Get out of the detection sphere and camo will be resumed.
Camo last for about 18 secs IIRC, at Cov Ops speed is enough to activate out of LRF sensor range, position in its back, wait till he fires desintegrator or torpedo, activate plasma arc and orion, and melt him in 4 seconds.

That part of the discussion was about the Tackler’s stealth. But doesn’t matter. Once you’re located, any half competent recon isn’t going to let you happily coast out of detection range again (assuming they were dropping that locator to detect you in the first place and not just to farm assists like so many of them seem to do).

Cruise missile would explain why I got hit by a homing missile. As for moving, I typically barrel role after activating the module. Not loving that a missile can still track me if fired before I go off the radar. I guess that is why they get so few cruise missiles per cartridge. I assume it won’t hit someone who is actually cloaked?
I had activated the camo then rapidly fired after, within a second. No spy drone out, I was able to activate. Normally targeting time elapsed effects get countered by this, save it seams plasma web. Perhaps this had to do with the low wait time till firing. I’m sure I’ll get a chance to test it again next weekend.

I feel like the power of the Orion out weighs how difficult it is to learn to use the adaptive camo properly.
If you have a high ping, things are not standing still for you. ECM would be better, it requires more module management then I am capable of accurately doing at this time. Its affects are much more difficult to counter then the camo and cloaking effects.
the modules makes you visible but thats only if you where invisible.
so camo = visible just not seen on radars.
= no modules should be able to make annyone target you meanwhile using adaptive camo.
or am i to Ace yet ?
Yes, both the spy drones and the microlocator will make you show on radar again. But with the cov op speed is just a matter of seconds to get away from the microlocator radius. And spydrones since the nerf are useless.
