Open world is not planned

Fyi, Skula is the lead Dev.

For those of you out there, Be aware that this is what you are going to get. Enjoy.

This game is not suited for open world. It would require a total overhaul  even down to engine level I guess. Its like expecting that LoL/SC2/CS become and open world game. The game could be really good at what it is, it just lack of many features right now.

the game is more then capable of it. The problem is the lying and hiding it.

They deleted my posts because they dont want to get people pissed and to leave the game because they are not going to make it

and they know 90% + of the game wants it.

It will take 2-3 months to create an open sand box, Which they stated they were going to do in the new years video

and directly used “Upcoming sandbox style of play”.

Iv also seen posts on the russian forums where the following was said

“this game is only here to make money, we want to do this with investing as little as possible into it, while receiving the greatest amount from it”

They dont care about the players, just about money

this game is no different then the rest of those games out there

all lying and claiming “they want to be the best” but in the mean time they are only interested in their own personal advancement

“this game is only here to make money, we want to do this with investing as little as possible into it, while receiving the greatest amount from it”

That is a business perspective in most of cases. I dont see anything wrong with that. None is really going to work overhours for free just to make you happy!

This 2-3 month in what fairytale? Of course they could generate utterly large space with some kind of stuff in it, but to make something that would practically work as open space would take way more longer.

  1. I am happy with Star Conflict being an arcade shooter

  1. I just want clan wars

  1. But community is what keep games alive past their shelf life

  1. Clans / Corporations represents that community

  1. Corporations need something more than just arcade games to keep them interested

  1. If the Developers do not make an open world, they better find a good alternative

  1. Otherwise … they will not make money

on a side note:

"… Larger ships are planned: Corporate Dreadnoughts "

yes effing pls !

This game is turning into butt kissing thats what it is, unfortunately we only see the same nicknames here in the forums and now for days about 1000 players or less ingame.

The same clans in the same battles, the same names in chat trolling and the same old dramas.

And more important its starting to look like some people are getting favoured, some clans are favoured by the mod /dev team .

This is what is killing the game, the personal interests of some people, this game started out fun, now its becoming the same old bs that WoT is / was or EvE.

Then again Russian game uh… now were did we see this already… were are the devs on this forum answering questions and posting stuff?!

No open world is fine if we get some improved sector conquest

were are the devs on this forum answering questions and posting stuff?!

i think error does it for the english forums

Error ain’t Dev so he can say all that he wants, in the end the direct answers from devs are what interest the most of us because it is with them that people can give opinions and constructive critics about the state of the game.

Then again why does a Dev answer directly in the russian forums and here we have a mod acting as middleman?

I’m happy with Star Conflict being a well designed and executed multiplayer arcade space shooter.

pfff , Open world? i dont care .

more content , more ships , more corp things and ill be fine

more content , more ships , more corp things and ill be fine

I’ll second that  :fed012:

I am not surprised, because I never expected an Open world.

The Gaming industry goes through cycles, and times where large multiplayer games games had 5+ years of development time like the first generation of MMORPGs had are long gone.

Todays buisiness model develops a very low amount of content, fluff and features around a core of a hopefully enjoyable gameplay. While at the same time featuring prices for “premium” and micro-transactions that would be adequate for one of those past games featuring a rich and diverse world full of content.

Don’t get me wrong, I still love the core gameplay of Star Conflict, despite the past few patches making me increasingly angry about the direction its development is taking.

But I think its VASTLY overpriced for what is being offered for the money, which is why I’m still only partaking as a f2p player.

I would have no problem paying 10-15 € / month for a good game as I did with the old subscription models, if  I received a good game in return, and devs didnt ignore our player feedback.

But when gamers accept receiving increasingly lower amounts of content and development time for roughly the same amount of money payed (or even paying more) more and more developers will do this. Unless not a few, but the majority of gamers wake up, this is how more and more games will look like.

pfff , Open world? i dont care .

more content , more ships , more corp things and ill be fine

Add more guns and you got me hooked :’)

Regarding this info… “Ahahahahahahahaha I knew it”.

Oh well. I guess this game will really have no chance of holding my interest for long…

exactly. the devs claimed this will be the best space game.

Cant do that with this crap, Tbh.

As much as I’m loving SC, I think I speak for most internet spaceship enthusiasts when I say that this game is just a way to pass the time until Star Citizen comes out.

All your open-universe wet dreams will come true and more, based on how Roberts is shaping up the game.

That said, I’d really love to see this game developed more, but something in the way of more depth and polish in the core gameplay would be preferable to an open world model. Not saying I wouldn’t like to see it, but there are a lot of other things I’d like to see first (meaningful sector warfare, tech trees for synergy levels, crafting, more game modes, and space whales, to name a few).

If you haven’t heard of Star Citizen, check it out: http://robertsspaceindustries.com/star-citizen/

@OP: if that quote you cited from the Russian forum is legit, I’m not spending another dime on this game. If you can, can you verify? I was going to buy another month of premium…

Look at his tag. You dont know this because they keep it secret, but he is the Lead Developer, He is basically the second in lead for the development of the game (tied or just under the producer).

Its a legit post. I am rallying the support of the community to change it, because the truth is, if enough of us band together and complain they will do something about it.

I know passing russian, that post at least appears to say what Uhmari has related. And the dude’s tag is “Administrator (of) Star Conflict”, so… yeah. Dev.

google translated the thread when Uhmari posted the link. it was a Dev Q&A session. Although the no to open world comment was not the lastest reply… was made a couple months back.
