1 The ability to target a friendly ship and keep it targeted throughout the match.
2 While also being able to still target hostiles.
eg. All players of my team locks onto our engineer, so we all can stay by him. While also being able to target the enemy ships.

Locking is only useful for shooting and using modules on them. Why do you suggest this?

In open space it might be usefull in a couple of ways, but in pvp matches it is more confusing than helping.

I disagree.
I will create my own suggestion how to fix this.
Just you wait.
Locking is only useful for shooting and using modules on them. Why do you suggest this?
* Because it could increase situational awareness especially in PvP
* + it is optional whether you want to use it or not.
* Many players don’t find maneuvering useful either,_ _but it’s still a nice feature to have. Just kidding
* Notice i talk about being able to target 2 ships simultaneously. 1 enemy and 1 friendly.
* I find that what wins games in high-level PvP is much about players keeping their “eye on the ball” , and coherence in the team.
