Base RoF is 130. And in rapid fire, you have to clic once per shoot. So it means 130 clic per minute.
The AoE mode works great because a constant press is easy to use (but prediction marker is bugged, will be fixed).
It shouldn’t work like : Rapid clic = rapid fire. Long press clic = AoE damage.
It should more work with the cooling system.
I mean :
You can still choose between rapid fire and slow AoE with either a rapid clic or long press. BUT, once you’ve shoot at least 1 time, you can’t switch until the weapon is fully cooled.
Wich mean that after the first rapid shoot, you can now keep the button pressed and have the rapid fire mode.
I think that the bindings for it should be re-mapped, instead of long and short presses, holding left click does rapid fire small charges and left + right should form one large charge

What I proposed is probably the best solution hands down. And it also insert a drawback where it don’t right now (and don’t tell me no damage. It’s the new weapon with the biggest DPS because of bubble mode.

Just sounds like the most idiotic weapon idea in history to me. What were the Devs thinking on this one?
no, that’s the scatter gun, the spread is horrific and it can only be used effetively either kissing the other ship or from 1KM plus away so the projectiles can group

I tried with Spark with x2 heatsinks and overdrive and it can be a very fun weapon. You just need to spam a lot your left click :005j:
I feel like it would make a lot more sense to make it so that the thing the fires slowly requires you to click and the thing that fires quickly requires you to hold your mouse down. I mean…

The “Kaboom” mod with firing a rapid charge into an energy ball is really hard past 500m.
And most of the time, when I stop firing some bubbles, it makes me shoot a rapid charge that instantly destroy the last bubble and so damage me.
It also lack of a prediction marker for the bubble mod.
This, with the fact that you need to spam click is sad for a such fun gameplay.
For above : if you do that, how do you cancel your energy ball? And how do you fire only once or twice with rapid charge?
With assault Railgun, because of overheat we may have to fire only one or two times, wait, and do it again. If click = bubble, you’ll loose that part on the Phaser gun.

Phaser doesn’t have terribly overheat like rails. You can probably learn how to hold the button for just enough to get off two shots. Besides, if click is bubble, and hold is rapidfire, then it’s going to be much harder to blow it up in your face.
The fact is that Rail don’t have to spam click. With spam click, you have a reduced RoF and cool down a bit the gun.
With a full shoot, we’ll be close to what rail is.
Anyway I don’t care how they do it. But they need to :
-Remove the spam click.
-Remove self damage with explosive bubble.
-Add a prediction marker for bubble.
-Make destroying bubble with rapid charge much more easier.
In fact it’d be cool to see at hover the distance between the bubble and us. Also, if we hover bubble while shooting a rapid charge, the rapid charge would be auto aimed (like scatter gun) to that bubble and make it explode.

My left hand is already used to it because of osu where I don’t have rest times to stop clicking. So I guess the right one could do the job but better :004j:
