A small free aim suggestion

Hi. Nope, this thread is not about toggling free aim instead of holding a key.

Can you please make an option to lock a cursor in the center when using free aim, and add camera rotation with cursor movements instead of having to drag all the way to the screen edge in order to move camera? I don’t know about other players, but currently I find it a bit inconvenient to waste time on dragging mouse from one edge of screen to another just to move camera a bit. A locked cursor and camera movement along with mouse movement would be much more useful imo.

Thank you for attention and sorry if there are typos in my post, english isn’t my main language.

thanks for the input - forwarded to the Devs

Agreed, I support 100%!

We are working on it, since it was mentioned many times. Thank you for your suggestion anyway!

But in all seriousness this is actually a great idea.

It would mean that YOUR WEAPONS WON’T STEER YOU!

Yeah! I want that key.

Actually… There’s already an option for that.

Yes, you heard me right; there are TWO FREE-AIM MODES!! X3

Look under keybinds and there’s one for moving your turrets with you ship still, and another for looking around without moving your guns or your ship~

He’s talking about aiming while moving camera freely. Which is neither of those. Unfortunate.

Yeah, he wants a first person shooter camera (wich is by far the most accurate). That means that the only thing that moves your aim sight is the movement of your mouse; seems stupid, but if you realise that moving the mouse to one edge of the screen makes your aim sight to constantly change at a steady degree. When you hit fast moving targets, that added movement (related to the position of your mouse to the center-edge of the screen) makes harder to have a high presicion unless the target is advancing at a steady speed and direction. When i need that kind of presicion i use free aim, but only works when the target doesnt moves much from the center of my screen.

Imo, the worst part about free-aim is that you cannot do well when  zoomed in.  Like, you get no rotation at all. Furthermore, you lose most of your hud when you’re in zoomed-in mode…
