10 facts about Star Conflict.

I ran out of things to do again so I gathered some of my trivia knowledge I know about the game and made a list of facts!

 

 

 

 

-Fact 1:  The Phaser is the only main weapon in the game that can deal 2 types of damage: Thermal and EM.

 

 

 

 

 

-Fact 2:  The Pirate Baron’s main weapon damage is estimated to 70000 EM damage.

 

 

 

 

 

-Fact 3:  The actual name of the Alien species are ‘Crystallids’,the name was given due to their crystal-like appearance,it

 

 

was also proven that they are sentient ships.The Biomorphs on the other hand are mutated ships caused by the Liu Virus,which

 

 

with the help of the Biomorphs,can infect whole planets which also can come to life and move out of their orbits which are called

 

 

‘Bions’,The Leviathan map is located in a Bion’s orbit.While The Leviathan Catacombs is located on its surface.

-Fact 4:  The actual Alien Destroyer Flagship’s name is ‘Andromeda’(I dunno why but yeah,let’s just roll with that.)

-Fact 5:  Regardless of the apperance,sound and EM damage,the main weapon of the Pirate Pillagers is not a Plasma Gun

 

 

it is actually called a Assault Railgun.(‘feature’?)

 

 

 

 

 

-Fact 6:  The actual name of the ‘Fire Support’ map is Naberia-392 Complex and for ‘Northstar Crash Site’ is Naberia-526 Complex.

 

 

 

 

 

-Fact 7:  There is a texture for a cliff that is missing in the Fire Support map which makes the cliff see-thru but you cant shoot or fly through it.(another ‘feature’)

-Fact 8:  On the Destroyer Achievements section,there is a achievement named “Primus inter pares” which means “First among equals” It is typically used as an honorary title for those who are formally equal to other members of their group but are accorded unofficial respect.(yeah right)

 

 

 

 

 

-Fact 9:  Brokk is also the name of a company that is the world’s leading supplier of remote controlled demolition robots.(definitely no link between those)

 

 

 

 

 

-Fact 10:  The total amount of GS (Galactic Standards)required to buy all of the premium ships(excluding the DLCs and craftable ones)is 239310!

Fact 11: Originally, the pirates were privateers - the Shadow and Privateer pirate clans were funded by the Empire and Federation respectively to raid each other’s territory.

Fact 12: When unlocking a new ship class, ships from all three factions are shown, despite each class only being available to two factions.

To the ‘Andromeda’:

I made this assumption, as we need a distinction between the Spec Ops destroyer and the faction destroyer.

And if you take a look:

Fact 12: Maximum reachable speed in SC is 700m/s. It’s a game design limitation - in reality maximum reachable speed is c=299792458m/s which is speed of light

 

Fact 13: In SC like in real life you need acceleration to escape gravitational fields, not maximum speed. Remember F=m*a.

 

Fact 14: There are only two modules that affect ship’s acceleration: Tetroxide Injector (which increases it) and Shield Projection Splitter (which reduces it).

Fact 15:  The Lightweight Hull and Submatter Shield modules used to be able to be equipped on any ship between Ranks 7-9. These modules were removed from purchasability, however the actual modules remained with players for some time. Now, these modules have been set to only be equippable ships between Ranks 10-15 for Lightweight Hull, and 12-15 for the Submatter Shield.

 

Fact 16: The fastest Defiler time achieved before Destroyers were released was under 5 minutes,

 

Fact 17: The WolfPack [WPK], Nova Corporation [Nova], Star Storm [sT0RM] and SIRIUS [sRS] have all owned over 9 sectors consecutively. The WolfPack have set the record of owning 13 sectors, while Nova has owned 10.

Fact 42: SC isn’t based in our reality. In SC world there is air resistance in space therefore ships lose speed when turn off the thrusters.

Note to this: Even using thrusters speed can’t go over a certain threshold(and acceleration doesn’t drop slowly off like one would imagine).

Note to Fact 12:

Jumpspeed is 2km/s, but for destroyers it’s only 500m/s.

I’m quite unsure about recons warp.

1.Cybers have joined the alien forces and can act as vessels for the Liu virus,they are also known to build cyber beacons to act like pinpoints for the Aliens to know where to warp.

2.The Defiler is a capital ship class known for its wide array of emitters able to fire fast charges and unguided energy spheres,open portals and project shields.

3.Speaking of which,the warp speed of a destroyer is 500m/s and of a regular ship is 2000m/s,yet the maximum speed you can reach in game is the speed of a microwarp the numbers are not exact but all that we know its that its subluminal speed and it takes you over 15km over the course of 2 seconds.

2.Light cannot escape a black hole,you think you have better chances?And the more you enter in it the slower you are supposed to go as the time slows down inside of a black hole,and if you are trapped by one instead of getting crushed you will get pulled from both sides and get elongated,so much that every cell of your body would be ripped in half.

3.There is also the Inertial Stabilizer that increases the strafe and acceleration speed by 30%.

Hunters are also frigates,but they are still spread in 2 classes:Engineers that can use attack drones,but cannot use the defence module and the Guards that cannot use the drones but can use the defence module,the alien guards yield higher rewards as they are supposed to be harder to kill since most of the weapons perform the best at close ranges but their defence module will stop you from doing so as it deals 750-1000 thermal damage in a range of 1200m.(they really need to nerf that one a bit)

I said “gravitational fields”. In game it will help escape black holes so - ye, better chances indeed.

 

Thanks for pointing out Inertial stabilizer although game does not give information regarding strafe acceleration so we can’t know…

You need to differ between a black hole and a gravitational point.

The sun, yeah even the earth/moon are the latter. Lens seem to use gravitons(which would explain the huge force and the short availability) before collapsing again.

And does one know why scavenger, pirates and cartels hate each other?

And why smuggler can be friend or foe?

1.Different factions with then same objective,money.They are competing so that has to be enough of a reason.

2.Well,maybe they are smuggling good things?Yet that shouldn’t make them good as they are still doing something illegal.

Well, I’ll put it this way. The lore of the game that is actually visible *in-game* needs to be expanded. Miss Summer took control of the cartel some time ago, so who knows what’s going on with them.

Ad Fact 15:

 * actually the old T3 light weight hull got rank-less for a while, so you could even use it on t2 ships, while all other modules got changed to ranked modules.

 * the other modules which remained in T3 unpurchasable for so long, were besides submatter shields, the capacitor power relay and target tracking coprocessor.

 * T3 target tracking coprocessors could be crafted in the earliest crafting system from open space, even as they were not purchasable.

 * The only passive module which never was in T3 was afaik the strafe engine one, as it was always T4+, but i could be wrong.

Another fact:

 

Before patch 0.9 (I think), you could equip multiple ammunitions and missiles on the same ship. Also, there were different weapons that could be equipped on all ships. Some of them also had a “slow barrel” effect. 

 

Back then all weapons could be equipped on any ship regardless of type.  Assault Plasma and assault rails were the fast firing weapons, Stabilized Rails and positron cannon were the sniper weapons,  Heavy weapon barrels did in fact move slower than normal weapons.   Heavy Rails were like a slower firing, higher damage version of coil mortar and Heavy Plasma was the very first version of Sing cannon where the bubbles were much bigger and did not pass through objects/enemies.  Nobody used lasers back then because they were soooo horrible dps wise.

 

Each weapon type could do 2 types of of damage i.e. plasma could switch from EM to Kinetic dmg just by changing which ammo you were using.

 

All frigates had 6 turrets back then instead of just LRF as it is now.

 

Also there were no classes back then…special modules were unique to each faction (only Fed had fighters that could cloak, Empire had overcharge, jericho had cmd bubble and so on) 

 

I can remember playing my jericho frigate back then with Pulsar, engineer aura heals, Jericho LRF torps, minefields, and normal missiles all on the same ship.    

oh good old times without T5, open space, boring Sector Conquest and dessies.

 

I wouldn’t mind the old missile system back where once you fired all your missiles on a ship that was it for the rest of the match.   You had to be a lot more tactical with the use of them instead of just spam missile after missile at people because “hey i’ll be getting all new ones in 90 seconds anyways”
