I think the biggest part of the community didn’t really try it out, as it seemed rather daunting… Before it was merged with the “normal” (now sector conquest) mode, I always wanted to try it out, but never went around, as I had read on forums that it ended up in lame gameplay. Now, I absolutely love it - I wish there was a way to play ‘realistic’ more often, or to come around the issues it causes and make it more prominent…
We had this system in the past and the biggest part of the community did not like it.
Not from what I saw. Sure it wasn’t the most popular, but who cares? It was still popular enough. Of course a harder game mode isn’t going to be the most popular, doesn’t mean you get rid of it. It’s not logical.
If you die in the first couple minutes, you might have to wait ten more minutes until the match is over. Objectives will become irrelevant, it will be one team wiping out the other team.

You never played Realistic so you have no clue what you are talking about.

What this guy said basicly, removing Realistic is stupid.

Unless you consider the fact that arcade and realistic are merged together now so pretty much everyone’s played it. Imagine realistic detonation match. Do you think anyone would ever go after the bomb? It’d be too risky, just hold back and kill the other team instead.

I have *never* had this happen in Realistic mode. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I actually had to observe anyone in this mode.
I’m not sure what it’s like for the pilots who generally fare less well, though. I’m actually quite interested to learn what the average experience is in realistic mode. What do you do once you die? Spectate the better players?

realistic has only 1 game mode… One which I play rarely due to the fact its hardly chosen by the server.
Realistic never had detonation in its ranks. All the other game modes yes.

If you end up getting focused, and lost your ships early. What I’d do is watch the map, and team, and help coordinate the defense/attack to help my team win.

I had it happen around when realistic first started and part of my lineup included ships I rarely played. Either that or they’d be ships focused on a purpose, like a PvE engineer. Depending on the time, maybe follow someone. I wouldn’t call it better players really. A LRF can last a long time. Sometimes I’d switch to reddit to wait for the match to end so I could get my credits.
