It’s received a much needed nerf for XCOM 2. Now “shadowstep” doesn’t trigger overwatch at all.
This is on my list. Loved EU and EW, but right now I have to hold off until the new PC. Still, that’s not far off now!

Well shadow step is not lightning reflexes, cause there is a perk you can get through awc granting random perk on lvlup, and it is exactly is lightning reflexes )) just now it is a 1x 100% missed overwatch each turn))

Well dang. Terrible synergy with shadowstep, I bet 
I only just built the AWC, got chain shot on my medic specialist. It’s an ammo hog with a ridiculous cooldown, but now I can treat my medic kind of like my rangers? Had no idea lightning reflexes was still in the game.
Imho AWC must be rushed every time, every time you lvlup there is chance to get a random perk and those can easily define your future build on this solder, or can carry your early game. Gurella into awc, not sure there is enough supplies on legendary though, if not ide delay gurella for awc, bonuses are to damn good.
What i am not sure about is what if you retrain your soldiers with awc, is there a chance for new random perks

Man, I’m finally breaking in to the end game now (I say end game, I mean I’ve been delaying my story missions as much as humanly possible so I have all my top tier stuff already…) and I’m really sad that my Jane Kelly didn’t get an AWC perk. Think I’ll be downloading that “Retroactive AWC” mod soon, then.
Far as I can tell, retraining soldiers doesn’t give them a chance for a random perk. Looked it up and stuff, doesn’t seem like it.
