Wolf-M post 0.9.1

Hi all,

 

I have the Wolf-M since some time and I really like this gunship, but since the change on ship modifiers, I really don’t know how to equip it to be effective.

 

Could some of you give me some advices ?

  1. Fit like you are an interceptor

  2. Play like you would play an interceptor

  3. Profit

You can’t tank, you fly fast, you dodge. get in unload your stuff get out right away, you are not a prolonged encounter brawler.

Absolutely, special note, when you fly federation interceptors you have to assume that you are a Drone :)))

Havent looked at the wolves in a long time now but T4 Fed gunship have layout issues and cannot turn fast enough to match inties. It used to be able to. Should double check that.

I did try a full speed fit. After several days, IMHO don’t sacrifice hull. More effective on the field.

T4 Federation gunships have 2x Engine module slots, while obviously you will never be as agile as federation interceptors, you can outmaneuver or be on par with Empire/Jerichos, and under overdrive you will hit federation interceptors agility.

Looking at that is just royally screwed up.  My Kris AE is only 5 m/s faster on base speed.  I guess it’s a good thing I fly it like a fighter with bad weapons.  Maybe with the patch change I’ll retune it to be an interceptor.

Kostyan, why the shield booster?

 

Do you paint all your ships? And why such sparky colours? 

And also another question, why the 2 collision compensator if you have galvanized armor? you see, your second screen shows a wolf with better roll and pitch and only 1 compensator.

Anyway I’m loving how you build your ships, could you show me -if you have one- some command ship builds? :D

screwed why? Im pretty sure that if your Kris AE is slower than that, it is tankier than his wolf-m

I have a Black Swarm faster than his wolf M and also with 2k additional surviability. I’m not fan of making fighters interceptors, but if you do it, it’s a risk imo

Add in overdrive, and it’s faster and more maneuverable.  That tankiness fails when going against a purple singularity gunship while I’m stuck with interceptor weapons.

Kostyan, why the shield booster?

Its mostly boils down to how you fly it and how you engage it, Shield regen is 30+% of your shield pool and it will regen you any dmg, i have 2 modules to counter CC already so i don’t need shorter CD on flares for that (10 sec difference) But most importantly you do not approach through wide empty space, mobility is a luxury allowing you to flank/ come from bottom/top, use cover. As a singularity weapon you have to be quite close and orbit like an interceptor, missiles are not close range weapons, they will miss. If i run away , again cover is my friend + speed boost let me get there very fast. If i have no way of dodging Octopus i will absorb it with combat reboot. Basically i don’t worry about missiles to much due to my flying behaviors on Wolf-M, so regen is more effective, and that thing saved my xxxx so many times oh and that regen let me take couple more hits from pulsar+slow immunity so often i ended up tanking pulsar if i am already under aiming overcharge and overdrive:))

 :slight_smile: NO i have only 2 ships painted, Wolf-M and Anaconda-mk3. I like the color, and in the way all encounters happening and the HUD there is absolutely no effect of your pattern on the encounter outcome, but on the Kill screen i will be remember, subliminally promote NASA :), these are NASA colors after all :))

1st build is more of a defencive build as a cover for a healer/guard in a squad, because i can not run away i have to tank a little more thats why a galv armor, and this is exactly why 2 compensators - galv armor reduces your rotation by 20% and this is a huge hit on the whole purpose of a Wolf- M so i compensate with 2 Collision Comp modules. 2d Screen is more of an intended build that i mostly fly.

Unfortunately i have not flown any commands since Fusion shield/Heatsink nerf, add to it Aiming change so i have nothing to share :slight_smile: I don’t like flying commands anyways.

A fairly successful Katana-S fit (I used to have it fitted with Gauss Rails but upon seeing the disastrous teams I was pitted against, I thought it best to just fit it for anti-Frigate duties. Valkyrie & Gravi-Scanner to be used on the field whenever you need extra damage and you see fleet movement, but no related buffs on top.

:good:  That’s more or less what I use on my Prometheus X (althought I still level 9 on Armada to have the Leak Stabilizers blue and max out the synergy)

Nah, ditch the shield booster for Flares. Better cooldown. The point of Commands is to do Support throughout the map. If you get shot, you need to outlive the dps until you come in range of any friendly ships, so your main focus is to stack as much Energy as possible with a bit more regen (regen has to surpass afterburber + resists usage). So pool + regen. Armor/Shield slots, depending on ship, should be fitted for maximum tank.

Meh I used flares on commands and I don’t find them THAT good (compared to ceptors for example) I use the shield booster because it has also a very low cd a it heals more than half of my shield in seconds. And as you see I also stack energy and energy regen when I get the blue stabilizers and 9/9 synergy I think ill hit the 1600 energy or more.
