Will there be more tiers or ships/ship types introduced?

This is a curiosity of mine. I remember back in the day when there WAS no tier V, and it ended at T4 with a big, ominous NOT AVAILABLE beyond that. Now, we have T5 ships, the three factions no longer have access to all three varieties of each shipclass (I remember flying a Fox that was a command fighter, now Federation has no command fighters), and there’s these experimental project ships, one for each faction. I’d like to see that… expanded, and maybe someday defaulted to a T6 tree, with the then-future T7 being the NEW “secret project”.

Discuss.

I’m all for more ships, if it had more gameplay / strategic choices.

On tiers though, I think lesser is better! With less tiers, the playerbase is somehow concentrated… So, no, don’t add anymore, please

No. the less tiers there are, the better. Quite few would gladly merge t4 into t3 and t5

so like… double the ships and ship types, but within the already present tiers? I could get behind that.

I think the current tier-system works, but isn’t optimal for the current player base. I think the current player base is large enough to support 3 tiers (a beginner tier, intermediate tier, and advanced/competition tier). If the player base were increased at least tenfold, I think the possibility of more tiers could become possible, but even then, that is unlikely.

I think most of the playerbase is RUS/European. I’ve noticed a sort of dead quiet during American primetimes… maybe some advertising would do a trick? Hell, just put it on steam’s featured list for a week or so, even.

New Tiers and ship roles are not planned in the near future.

That’s good enough for me. It at least leaves room for development. You guys have your to-do list, and if new ship content makes its way in, awesome. I’ve got faith that it will SOMEDAY, and I’m a patient man when I’m not drunk.

Don’t bother trying. A lot of us (especially US players) have been trying for months, if not years, for the devs to advertise more, but nothing has been done in that department.

The only time I ever saw an ad for Star Conflict was when it was featured on Steam the week of its Steam release.

Why they don’t feature it again, or bother advertising for that matter, is beyond me. When it was featured on Steam, the US player base easily reached the thousands, and it has never been that high ever since.

Which is a shame really, there are a lot of potential gamers in the US that would enjoy a game like this that haven’t heard of it, or who stopped playing it a couple years ago.

I’m actually one of those thousands. I have a canadian friend that just joined my corp, but waaaay back when the game launched he got me to try it with him. I loved it, but… sucked. I was new to games like this and was too busy with life to bother really learning about the meta and all, but only recently I came back after seeing the game in an imgur post about great free games–thought I’d come back to give it a try, and liked it even more than I did the first time. I’m TRYING to get the game some publicity with my blogs and the forums I own, and so on. It’s working, but… slowly. Very, very slowly.

Moral of the story: While word-of-mouth does manage to bring in players, it’s nowhere near as effective a marketing tool as actual adverts and such, paid for and posted on webpages, on television, etc. Come on Gaijin. Let’s make it happen bby. <3

Could you give us the links?

Well i havent played much SC, i tried it like a year ago and just got back to it a couple days ago but i already have the feeling there are too many roles or the roles just seem to be very artificial. Gunship, commandship both seem to be very pointless. Well commandship i get it gives some buffs. But Gunship? My Frigatte:Engineering deals more damage and has better survivability than the gunship. Commandship and Gunship could be merged. Tackler and Recon? These two could be merged into one aswell. Just like engineer and guardian.

I just dont seem to find a reason to have so many different roles, this is not EvE. This game is way too fast paced and action loaded to have the need for some of the classes.

It would make alot more sense to reduce the amount of roles by shiptype and give variety through fitting and loadout.
