Will entering the Open Space within a group forcefully disable the Station Protection?

Hi all , am newbie to this universe and have couple of questions to be spammed away ;D

 

Will entering the Open Space within a group forcefully disable the Station Protection? Seems it would be hard for beginners like me and my friends to go open space without this.

It’s a weird and tiresome issue that has been around since forever, basically make a group, undock, disband group, make it again and it works.
