Honest question here. I’ve tried 3 different “characters” on 3 different accounts to try all 3 races and it always turns into the same thing. Standoff missile/sniper spam from frigates with a “no-man’s-land” between the two where anything that dares go gets instantly zapped by lasers.
Honestly, this feels like it takes a lot of the mobility out of the game, and if you aren’t hiding behind an asteroid peeking out to lob a guided missile or fire a sniper shot, you’re dodging lasers for the few seconds that you can be expected to live.
Also, why use any weapon but lasers? I undertstand that a lot of people are going thermal-tanked, but even then, you’ve got a long range weapon that hits instantly, continuously, without the need to lead the target and has no dispersion at all. So seriously, why use anything else? Especially since everything else is relatively short range and with the frigate standoffs, you never really get close enough to use them.
I’m really enjoying this game. It’s gorgeous, it’s fun, it could be dynamic if they’d let it be. I hope to see it make some headway in making all 3 ship classes viable.
Also, getting thrown in with rank 4 stuff on your 2nd game isn’t fun…

The frigates are suppose to be support ships, helping their teammates and protecting beacons ~ Not running the entire map and winning every match.
Is that so hard to figure out? How much of the same feedback and how many players do they want to lose before they do something about it? Not trying to be rude but I really want to play but I refuse to play as long as the game is broken.
And yeah, playing with high rank/high skill people is not fun and never will be until there is a mechanic in the game that averages them out to other peoples level. That is the only way this type of system will work with such a small player base, you have to level the playing field otherwise it is just a big PKing waste of time.

Well got to say that this is another of problems came with new patch…
Before last patch it was possible to move quickly around a frig with an intercepotor and kill it. It took long but was possible…now it’s simply impossible.
Pity gameplay was complte ruined by this patch looot of work to do to rebalance all of this again.
Cna’t wait for next patch, it’s absolutely needed… fingers crossed lol
I kind of miss the untouchable Inty spin of trolling was funny as hell to be able to fly right across the map able to avoid every thing to get point blank to the enemy then spin round a frig faster than it could hope to track.
I think Frigs need to lose some damage and gain alot more tank the main role is support so change them to high tank low damage support ships that can repair other ships with out giving up there own defence mods.

Yeah it was fun in an int, I loved it back then.
If the enemy team left even one beacon un-defended I could easily swoop in with my trusty int and take out ALL the drones and start capping it. That is the kind of dynamic gameplay that made it fun, now it seems to just be a small ship killing fest with all the advantage given to frigates ~ and I simply won’t play. Why lose all my saved up money losing battles I can’t win just to give some feedback that I can already pretty much figure out just looking at the statistics and patch change log ~ Like I’ve said before I’ve made and balanced plenty of mods so I know a few things about game mechanics and balance. Ohhh not to mention I’ve been working on my own games for years now, always alone, never able to finish.
