Why the hell

the thing is, U.S. matchmaker is broken. It is nearly impossible to get a game when you launch USA only.

*Sigh* when i’m spinning, how can i fly inties???

Especially recon! Should i pack only high ping ships?

If your ceptors are spinning at 160 ping, it is probably your bad ISP giving you packet loss. Either that or your mouse/keyboard is hooked up weird (Kost posted something on this in another thread).

On a separate note, any good US pilot should be able to fly ceptors in ping up to 200+.

Honestly, if you want to get US servers, play during US primetime, play in squads with other US players, and be sure the squad leader is a US pilot.

You can’t blame matchmaking for everything. I would join you in blaming the matchmaker if it was the matchmaker’s fault, but the matchmaker gives US servers when the majority of the pilots in the game are in the US region, and it certainly isn’t broken in that sense.

I spin with 200+ ping. i’m actually wondering if perhaps, the ping that it tells me i have is inaccurate. My ISP is not the problem. I’ve had 2 ISPs and still have bad ping and packet loss.

Unfortunately, i’m not a good interceptor pilot. i’m a decent one and a good tackler.

I play usually from 3 pacific time to 5 pacific time. wouldn’t that be 6 est to 8 est? I thought that was prime time.

Also, how do you explain my screenshots?

Please stop it.

Game is no more ping-dependent since ages, yes some weapons are still affected by bing but they nerfed them, at the point that you can use something else and “perform well”. This game has been “dumbed-down” to the point that guys without knowledge of basic mechanics can perform well even in end game contents.

Apart that, there are pilots that are performing really well with high ping (Ricepirate? Terroblade?), personally i can’t fly pure covops with more than 200 ping and/or 5 to 15 packet loss (mi isp start to suck since december, from 4 pm to midnight i have that packet loss value all days) but some others can, 'cause they are used to. You sayd that most of the time that’s your situation right? Well so: why they are deadly opponents and you are not?

Please stop saying that ping is the only difference between you and other players.

And seriously: SCORP team are fierce opponents for everyone, did you really expect that something would change on the same ping? Will all due respect but i know both team members, you will have a chance only if the guys on the other side are drunk.

P.s. once on the chat you said that when the phone ring in your home your internet connection stop working. This means that you have problems with your home cables… you can fix this with some google search and few dollars.

I am using easy aim guns and i still miss. They’re deadly and i’m not probably cuz they’re better.

Where did i say in this thread that ping was the only difference between me and other players? I’m not mad skillz pilot. i’m no Ace, i don’t suck, and i’m usually a valuable team mate, but i’m not the best. I would say i’m a middle of the road+ pilot and i have before.

When I said that OWL won because of ping, that was because i had huge packet loss and disconnects. Not even ricepirate can win when he’s disconnected more than he’s connected and has 50% packet loss.

SCORP is pretty fierce but the point of those screenies was that the choice of server in matchmaker is broken.

My phone was not ringing with the high ping.

The point of this thread is that i’m sick of getting russian servers the vast majority of the time and rarely getting U.S. servers. It’s extremely maddening to play against people with 10 ping when you have 210 ping and you’re dead before u even know it. having an extremely low ping is a huge advantage and honestly, i wish that there was a minimum ping (like 50) and if your ping was under that, it raised it slightly. i have played games where i had 5 ping and someone had 60 ping. it’s a huge advantage.

I dream of a better world where everyone has equally low ping and all my play together with 0 latency.

You see, Americans, this is why us Europeans (and Russians) spent years invading the rest of the world; we learned how to beat people’s home field advantage!

There there, I’m sure you’ll be a real country some day. :004j:

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!ahahhaha!!! LMGO

anyway about topic

It is your ISP though. All US pilots have bad ping to some degree or another (ping is determined by how far you are from the server location). Very few pilots have packet loss. Packet loss either comes from your end (your ISP) or the server’s end. If it comes from the server’s end, everyone on that server will experience it. This rules out the servers, as I’m betting no one in your games have the packet loss. This leaves the only other option being your ISP.

Your screenshots are on US servers, I don’t get what you are trying to prove with those…

Hmmmm so if i can’t connect to the servers but someone in russia can, it must be me? Or routing issues?

I have no problem with ping or packet loss on ANY other game and i’m not the only one who has high ping and packet loss on star conflict!!!

Then maybe you should read my whole post b4 u post m8. It really helps.

My phone was not ringing with the high ping.

Doesn’t matter if the phone was ringing or not. Once you have that symptom it mean that you have problems in your plugs or cables, that will affect the “quality” of internet anytime even when the phone is not ringing… google it.

Or call millanbel to run some maintenance… I mean everything is in GoD’s hands isn’t it :)?

Isn’t Mill an owl now?

Isn’t Mill an owl now?

oh well

Hmmmm so if i can’t connect to the servers but someone in russia can, it must be me? Or routing issues?  EXACTLY!!! IT IS YOUR ISP!!! You just said it yourself.  :fed014:**  **

I have no problem with ping or packet loss on ANY other game and i’m not the only one who has high ping and packet loss on star conflict!!!  That sounds like a personal problem m8. The servers of this game aren’t high quality. Everyone knows that. I never said you were the only one. I’m just saying you are the only one who claims to have it “every game”, which no one else gets.

Then maybe you should read my whole post b4 u post m8. It really helps.   It prioritizes the squad leader’s region ahead of the rest of the players in the game. After that, it takes into account how many players are in each region. I have had my fair share of games where I host a squad with 3 OWLs and we get a US server when there are only 2 or 3 US players in the game, if not I’m the only US player.

Nobody ever said the matchmaker was a perfect system. It is far from perfect as a matter of fact. It has problems.

My point you should take away from this is that your ISP is sh**. I rarely get bad packet loss, and I am running on sh**y dorm internet.

Blame the servers when everyone in the game gets the packet loss.

Or call millanbel to run some maintenance… I mean everything is in GoD’s hands isn’t it :)?

It would have been a good joke

For one, make certain you are hard wired to your router.

This will help if your computer shares Internet with ANYTHING in your house.

Aside from that most other things take too much time for too little return on ping profit.

But, but… that’s against ArcTic’s logic!

Your ISP sucks, or your computer connection to your modem is bad.

My ISP is based in North america, and I got around 150 ping, and I had no problem with movement.

*Edit Nevermind

Same here. The times when your ship flies itself is when you ping creeps over 350-400+ (from my experience on bad dorm internet), or when you have packet loss of 10%+.

true, but u.s. servers have been working lately and other games work. i definitely want to check into it tho.

I have done hard wire tests b4 and there’s no visible difference in ping dude.

Also, my router is owned by comcast and does not do qos. :frowning:

I blame a routing issue or something.

It’s just not logical any other way. I have no pl on any other games, it works fine on U.S. (finally), pretty well on european (FINALLY!) but now russian is crap.

but still, i don’t have problems with other games.

but still, i don’t have problems with other games.

Maybe the other games you play are not made in russia.

And from your location russia is on the other side of the world, maybe that’s the problem…
