have tried a guard frigate, you can hull tank in it, its about the same as any other frigate except for the ability to boost the resists by 100points for the chosen damage type.
Same deal as everyother frigate with the plus you get a pulsar instead of drones.
I’ll keep one around for T2 fun fights, i still prefer Engeneering frigates, i like to be on the front boosting other peoples defenses and pushing the offensive.
The guard is more like an oportunistic type of frigate, once the foe is comited you go in and drop the mines and pulsar people to death… its a 50 - 50 story and brings nothing special to your team.
