Why I get matched against this people?

Lets be honest here. This new PvP matchmaking system is broken and they, ‘allegedly’, rolled it out in [1.5.0f](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/36085-star-conflict-150f/) but never put it in the patch notes. So not only did they roll out a weird and radical ‘make all ships equal system’ to fix the long wait times, which simply puts the barely upgraded R4 against Mk.5 equipped R15 ships, they also FAILED TO MENTION WHAT THE SYSTEM DOES OR WHEN THEY PUT IT OUT! I have been reading all the patch notes and everything in the forum from the past 2 weeks trying to figure out HOW this new system works and even WHEN exactly it went into effect since I don’t play every single day and there is NOTHING helpful.

What’s the scaling system values/curve?

How does it work?

What tiers get matched with what?

How is that made ‘fair’?

How much +res will I get as a R5?

What are my ships new stats when I queue for PvP? (Because it only shows their base stats in the hanger)

Will modules get a buff too and what is it?

And one all important question that never seemed to get asked when developing this new PvP MM system.

HOW DOES SHOOTING AT A R15 SHIP AS AN R3-4 GOING TO MAKE NEW PLAYERS FEEL?

I’ll give you a hint: terrible. And when new players feel terrible about playing a game they NEVER come back.

Maybe the problem with the game isn’t the long wait times for PvP because there are not many players, but the fact getting into the game is challenging and hard to follow when starting out. There is a rather steep barrier to learning to fly, there isn’t much of an introduction, and the wiki is lacking. My impression of this game since I first started playing it in 2016 is that it caters to the existing player base and just expects people to know whats going on. If you want new people to join the game and enjoy it you need to make it easy to learn-e.g. don’t dump all the game mechanics on them and say ‘figure it out’-and don’t make them feel like they are only going to lose which is what this new PvP system does. I played Eve for about 8 years so I know a thing or two about getting into a complicated space game that will kick your teeth in if you aren’t ready to learn quick but Star Conflict can be obnoxiously opaque about how the game functions.

Maybe the solution to long wait times is to get more people into the game rather than trying to implement fancy math to try and keep the PvP player base you have happy all the time. I certainly don’t want to play PvP anymore so that is one less person you have in the queue now, and I’m certainly not going to recommend Star Conflict to new players based on the PvP. For the Missions and Open Space, sure, but this new system is not new player friendly no matter how you slice it so the constant problem from now on is a dwindling player base because the game is scaring away new players.

Pretty much awesome. “Hey, I killed R15 in my R5” ![:D](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/006j.png “:D”)

On the serious note - new player will not meet pro players, why would he met them? Ships R3-R4 are considered beginner ships - probably you will get to R5 when you will be able to select PvP mode. And even then you will still not meet pro players. Tried this on new account, other tried as well. Even if you are the best pilot for several missions game will not allow you to play against pro players. The only problem are tier rushers having one or two ship branches and then trying to level up their R1-R3 from the branches they didn’t pursue.

So no - I saw a pilot with 226 battles in R5 put against Jaguar. He asked the same question - what is he supposed to do now? I said to him to shoot that Jag down - it’s not that hard. And lo and behold: Jag exploded. And that what he said - “Hey, I killed R15 in my R5”. Only returning players have this reservation about ranks now. New players are just… playing. Vets are just playing, mumbling something about not able to farm newbies.

… no, I have no proof, but imho it was a bit more pristine than 1.5.0f

Not really, it makes it even stronger, since the opinion of _ Grumpy Gus _ is only one that counts.

if this was as you stated you would be first to stop arguing – so you disprove your own argument …

It looks like you are under the influence of GG. ![:fed014:](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/fed014.png “:fed014:”)

I can’t give up,

even if I get  ![:bomber_light:](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/bomber_light.gif “:bomber_light:”) from _ GG _ and few people that were blinded by him.

I’m trying to get GG away that we finally get well balanced normal close PvP games,

to get understandable icons back, cargo drones where they should be, storage cargo space for items enlarge to min 2000 and so on…

just look at list ![:017:](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/017.gif “:017:”)it is long long …
