I still can’t progress at any remotely interesting rate. It only takes 2-3 matches and all my contracts that give any useful quantity of loyalty go on 18 hour cooldown.
The only contracts left either require me to use weapons I dislike or involve beacons. While trying to complete beacon contracts I continuously get matched for game modes with no beacons. Oh I’m the captain? better lose as fast as possible so I can try to complete these contracts!
Star conflict, encouraging losing tactics since patch 0.7.10

This is exactly the problem with specific requirements for contracts. It’s poor planning and poor game design. If you give players the ability to play with any gun you shouldn’t have to change your weapons just to earn a few loyalty points.
Contracts are unproductive, a waste of time, and do NOTHING to improve team work.
Like I’ve said a few times before, if they plan on making contracts the only source of Loyalty they need to change a lot. It’s a mess and it isn’t efficient.
Even Korean grind games have some kind of efficiency system. This is just stupid.

If you want to get beacon capture points for your contracts, run PvE. Capturing the beacons on the mission where you attack the missile launchers is a guaranteed completion of the beacon contract.
Contracts represent winning over the favor of the faction. It makes sense that you would use their weapons while doing so. It’s not a big deal to jump into a T1/2 ship with rail guns, lasers, or plasma just to get a few quick kills.
All of this is much ado about nothing, since sub-faction loyalty contributes to only a single level of equipment. Mk I, Mk II, Military, and Experimental are all usable with no loyalty grind at all.
anyone noticed that the forum was down some time after the last patch was launched, and then when it’s back up, there’s lot less complain about the loyalty change?

It may have something to do with “currently online” people amounts now dipping below 500 off peak times.
Biggest problem with the current loyalty mechanics is that the sub factions grow slower than main faction.
This leads to following problems for players wanting to play with properly fitted ships:
Players need to farm PvE against their will to fit their ships with green modules, which are still worse than blue ones
Players need to farm _a lot_ of lower tier to get enough useable modules for their higher tier ships, and by a lot I mean unlocking few rank 12:s before getting t3:s to proper fits.
Players need to use sub-optimal tactics for filling their contracts, which hinders general gameplay for switching focus from winning to completing contracts.
Experimental drops are rare, but with making t3 and above blue modules hard to get, makes this really the only choise besides green modules.
TL;DR, I will play only t2 until they fix the loyalty, or I manage to get full epic fit for my t3:s which is likely to happen before unlocking blues for t3.
Against their will? I don’t think anything in this game is involuntary. Also…you can get green/purple drops from PvP.
You can purchase “usable” modules right off the bat. Nothing stopping you from purchasing Mk I & Mk II gear. I use it and still manage to find victory in battle.
Agreed that we need more and better contracts.
Not true at all. I ran T3 with Mk. II gear and did just fine.
TL;DR, If you refuse to play with anything less than epic, that’s your choice - not a flaw in the game.

Some people want to play pvp only, but sadly pve gives more guaranteed loot (at least 1 green or 1 epic if you dont suck monkeyballs)
Mk1 isnt usable when you play against skilled players
They should keep old system with contract being supplemental to passive loyalty gain
In tight matches vs ESB, Zero or other skilled players modules start to make difference, anyone can rape Aces with mk1 but when enemy actually shoot back, %:ts start to count.
