I’ve noticed people have been reporting bot users lately, maybe he is one of them. It seems like they just keep their game running while it puts them in matches automatically and get a bit of synergy
I did report one of them before and never saw him again . It is never nice or wise using auto bots on any game but here everyone see what you are doin so its just stupidy.
Report them please! Report them every single game you see them doing that. We GMs can’t take actions just because you say X guy is botting, we need you to report them as much as you can so we can send these kind of cases to the devs.
That’s great. Not only is he hurting his team by being afk, he’s also cutting off the quickest route to beacon C with his energy neutralizing missiles. Perfect teammate.
I honestly fail to understand how these people think they won’t get caught. It’s amazingly obvious.
hmm, those account using auto control in battle will be banned for sure.
btw, I’ve seen several times that one team have one or two disconnector at the beginning of the battle. This is annoying because players in both teams have to fight in inequal power due to their despise to the game. Please ban those players who always luanch and quit, I guess they’re trying to ruin the game.

It’s up to the developers to insure that they have robust cheat/automation detection in their game, it is not our place to police, or publicly name and shame those we suspect of using cheats or illegal automation.
We shouldn’t have to police their game for them.

James you know unbalanced mm is another issue , like all problems you mention it , if they dont wanna loose then they should learn play better. If they don’t wanna grind they should buy golds. You cannot punish disconnected players it is an worldwide online game, connection can be lost from many reasons. But I do agree leaving field needs a penalty.

I said PUBLICLY name and shame, as in " open a forum post and try to humiliate a fellow player ".
Reporting the suspected player in game is entirely different, and the only way fellow players should be responding, it is up to the devs to make sure they have adequit protection against cheating, we, as players, can ONLY report those we SUSPECT of cheating or we SUSPECT of using automation.
Maybe they are just placed into matches they consider to unbalanced to even start playing? Maybe they don’t despise the game (in which case they simply wouldn’t play), but just despise the way the matchmaker currently “balances” some of the matches? Maybe they are tired of watching some top score running away with the game? Maybe they want to have some fun, but do not consider it fun to be used as fillers in top scoring teams, or being assigned as target practice for the enemy top scorers for the 10th time in a row? Maybe they see it as a waste of their time to try to put syn on their ships in matches where they can clearly see that this won’t happen? Maybe the new, apparently w/l based, Pilot Rating makes them afraid to participate in losing battles?

To be honest, I am rather suprised it does not actually happen more often. I can imagine many legitimate reasons for not wanting to play a specific match. None of them has anything to do with trying to ruin the game.
Btw. is there any official rule/condition which disallows the player from disconnecting whenever he wishes? If there is, why is there a “leave battle” option in the first place?
Anyone is free to choose the battle he wants to fight. If this means you don’t want to play in beacon hunt with 3 LRF, or a beacon capture with 10 vs. 14 ships, or a team battle with some players using T2 ships vs. T4 premiums, then you don’t have to.
No, disconnecting from battle, even if it is considered bad manners, it’s not illegal. Doing disconnect during the captain selection phase to avoid being picked as captain can be reported though.
What I can’t understand is why people disconnects. You will lose all your income from the game, while if you play and get like 600 eff points and your team does nothing, you will get more income than any won game where you’ve been at the middle of the eff board.
Income in games is given according to your eff in comparison with the rest of the team. Winning only gives you the loot phase.

Not in t5. If your team is bad, you will die a lot and therefore pay more than you gain in repair costs…
Other option is to sit on the spawn and do nothing for the match, so you do not die. but I would rather DC so it is over quickly.

Even with lag, you wouldn’t sit in the same spot the whole game shooting at nothing.
