What should i do at this point...

I can take 2 paths…

1-Waste lots of money upgrading my rank 6 empire ships, experimenting a bit.

2-dont waste a credit, not upgrade, reach rank 9 and then start upgrading them with proper modules.

T3 battles are quite a bit different from T2. 

I cant really describe it, many players play on calculated risks there, not dieing becomes an aspect. 

 

Maybe try the following: buy a rank 7 ship and do some battles. If you can cope with the T3 style, do option 2.

If you dont like it: Do option 1, and try later maybe.

Wouldn’t a rank 7 ship skew his opinion of T3 due to…well being rank 7.  At least wait until you have a rank 8 ship to do PvP.  The extra module and implant make a big difference.   Not only this but the Empire rank 8 command for example is a great starter ship…lots of hull, hard to kill, easy to rack up assists…what’s not to like vs the rank 7 options?

No. REALLY don’t fly any Rank7 ships. They’re worthless and only really serve a purpose in being overpowered T2 ships.

 

Just save up for a Rank 8 ship and experiment with Mk2 gear.

Yea, I know that rank 7 ships arent the best. 

But you get matched in T3 battles to experience the new behavior of players in T3. 

This should be sufficient to get a clue whats going on there, and since the OP wants to save money… go for that rank 7. 

Its not a good ship, thats true, but you´ll get a clue and think about saving money for rank 9 or staying in T2 and experimenting.

flew rank 7 ship when i first  tried T3 and got maniac in the second battle… you can still do it

Fighters. Coz both available roles are useful. Can’t say the same for frigate path.

 

That said, Empire healer is Industry standard in this game and worth it’s own tech tree path lol. But if you’re experimenting and like to fly this and that every which game - take fighters. Best money saver on fighter class of any faction when you reach T4 too so might as well. If you are a dedicated healer, get that engineer now. No questions asked.

My problem is that i… Well… Suck at fighters. I get stomped with fighters because of covops or another ship, i just suck at em.

In t2 im a Champion medal collector with my inty Dwarf 2, so i might as well try the completly not op Cerberus 2 :stuck_out_tongue:

Same interceptor pilots will still give you the same grief. Only now, you are priority targeted and cannot run away more than what your warp gate lets you.

I will try intys, but it will be a pain to fly, and i will probable die. Easier than a fighter because i cant steer the ship.

Ping is 300 at exactly prime time, sometime it goes xxxxx send me to 2400

I will practice gunships in t2. A nice weapon for apilot that lacks aiming skills? Pulse lasers maybe?

I die by pulse lasers alot actually but would suggest the Rapid Plasma instead for your interceptor given the circumstances. I use rails personally.

Assault Plasma or Rails is forgiving skill wise. Not the best but decent enough. If you can live with the shorter range - Rapid Plasma on fighters are pretty decent even if not optimal for a gunship.

Which means in ten seconds, those interceptors caught up.  Consider that factor also.

I will try to see if rapid plasma does well in my gunship, i really need to pick one of the 3 roles because if not, i will be all day just to buy all t3 ships. I will try buying a rank 7 gunship and then go for that rank 8 command. I will play t2 because im a 2 drunk 4 stright flying inty pilot there :stuck_out_tongue:

Try to go to 8 first, it has an extra implant that’ll help a lot.  Picking only one role isn’t ideal.  I started playing covert ops more lately, and when I switch back to ECM, I might accidently hit F.  Today that cost me a beacon capture at the end of the game.  I think microwarp and MEF are the only two modules that could get you killed by using them accidently.  Guided torpedo is willful.

It’s just a long range frigate, decent kills, easily killed.  Killed happens first.

Lrf are so bad that i have to take complicated desicions just to avoid them.I should be like:Ohhh… A long range frig, nice ship, i canget a few kills and lots of money with. instead this happens: Agh! A long range, its xxxxx! What should i do to avoid it?!
