To whom it may concern,
I would like to express gratitude toward the developers of the game who continue to exert effort to try and improve our experience. I would also like express my anger and dissatisfaction with the direction of the game, especially in light of the most recent patch, 0.7.12.
I have been playing Star Conflict for months now, and although I have not been as active as I would like to have been as part of the beta community, I followed the discussions and observed the developer’s every move. Ever since patch 0.7.10, the player base on SC has been steadily declining, and frankly for justified reasons: The game is becoming more and more unbalanced and pay2win.
This first became evident when it was made that the only way to gain loyalty was through contracts, which effectively made it extremely difficult to advance and much harder to reach the “blue” modules and weapons. The interceptor speed cap was justified, so that will not be discussed. What the loyalty change did was make it so that if you wanted to advance you would have to either invest colossal amounts of time into the game or buy a license, both of which are not appealing. After many players expressed anger on the forum, the loyalty “nerf” was removed. We hoped that the developers had learned a lesson that the players are here to play for fun not to grind or pay tons of money. We understand that you need money to keep the project alive, but if you give us legible reasons to pay you, such as developing an amazing game, I promise you people will pay to play.
The last patch has enraged many, including myself. Basically what this patch has done is destroy the looting system, make T4 ship prices absolutely prices absolutely ridiculous, and ruin matchmaking, which has made the game no longer enjoyable. First, I don’t understand why on earth you would reduce loot rewards so much, we were anticipating a new, improved looting system, not something worthless. We would not be complaining so much if the prices had not been raised so much. You say in the patch notes that ships will now come fully equipped, and hence prices have been raised accordingly. I took a look at the modules you provide, and calculated that they are worth about 200k-300k, and they are not even good builds. For a crappy selection of MK1 modules, you raise the price by 3 million? This defies all laws of mathematics and economics. I’m sorry but I would rather pay 6M for a naked ship and fit it how I want than pay 9M for a fitted ship that I will end up removing all that has been including with it. Basically, you either need to get a license or grind. I doubt whether or not I will continue to play this if it becomes that way.
The most ridiculous change was the remaking of matchmaking. I remember a poll regarding this, and what you implemented was not the most popular option. Now, T2s are being placed with T4s, it is an ABSOLUTE mess. Skill doesn’t do **** when you are in a T2 trying to take down a T4 or even a T3. You can barely make a dent in a higher tier ship, and he can easily turn around and shred you. No matter what ship I put on, I place into T4, and there my T3s are just not cutting it, so I end up not making a profit, and getting almost nothing from loot. And considering I need a few million more to buy a T4, im forced to farm pve, which gets boring quick, so I just go play some other game. There is really barely any logic behind this patch.
Star Conflict has the potential to knock EVE out of the way, please fix this fast, stop releasing worthless patches, don’t make this pay2win, and bring on the BIG patches. These little patches are almost worthless. Don’t make this another Black Prophecy, we beg you.
