I just found 2 in PvP and have no idea what they do/are and couldnt find it on wiki
check out the patch notes each week they will normally give you the answer.

Artifacts are for corporations only so far… You can give them to your corporation by refining them into Iridium and in the future, iridium will be the main resource of the corporations when building a Dreadnought.
