i was wondering if a dev could make a trial for this idea where as you know the heavy blaster does thermal damage…could it be possible for a trial for the same weapon but 2 new variations of the weapon where one does EM damage and the other does kinetic…i know there are other weapons that do that damage but its just an idea…
if i need to re-do this post (like edit it) to make more sense please say cause it’s the best i can word it sorry
This has been suggested in the past, but such an addition would just make all weapons less unique. Therefore such a system is not planned.
awwwwww it’d be so much more useful for the heavy blaster to shoot EM damage i could kill the aliens easier, reason being as i got a daily assignment to do today and it asked me to escort a transport ship in “ruined station” where there are over powered aliens haha…kind of a suicide mission that is
Having weapons that can deal multiple type of dmg destroys the game’s balance and marginalize the resistance system.
i know it would get rid of balance but you can see where am getting this from though, with the aliens being a bit too strong especially with the predator alien ship with its tracking shots and little drones

In pvp… It would completely break the resistance game… Just like how the plasma guns did in beta with the needle + double deflector combo
Perhaps a better suggestion would be something like the “test flight/drive” mode from war thunder.
You select a ship to test fly in a restricted sector full of bots, you can select any of the armaments* it can carry, obviously all stock, but modules cannot be changed.
you fly around, test the ship, and hop out (or destroy yourself, either or) and obviously no pay gained or lost. You can do this for ships that you can readily buy (or are available for purchase), but you cannot do this for locked ships (e.g if i have an Axe max syn level, I can’t testfly a Dagger AE, or a Mauler, since those are not available for purchase yet.)
Would be useful to get an idea of how ships and weapons work before you buy, so you can be a little more adept with that new you shiny T-Rex once you get it with it’s normal stock loadout
Win win for all… Won’t change balance, will only help newer players get a better understanding of ships and weapons.
*Missiles, Main Weapon and Ammunition, not including premium since premium is the same as the manufactured ammo of the same type.
