You should unlock special module to get more points.
In the screenshot, you didn’t unlock the special module. That’s why you can not proceed over 590 points.
Nothing says about that kind of requirements. Beside, is has special module (first one) and that would be only Ellydium ship with that kind of requirement. All others are doesn’t have any problem to level up ANY way.
Zeta does. Tai’kin probably does.
I’d be surprised if they didn’t implement this kind of progress wall for the tharga too lol.
Its meant to slow your progression and make you waste resources, but it is required to progress.

Have all of them, where Tai’kin and Tha’ga are rank 15 and in both cases I unlocked special modules at the end of creating build desired. Zeta is on early stage of development yet, so hard to tell then. I am going to unlock that to see if you right, but as you said it just a waste to do it on that rank. Wonder also if there is more that kind of walls with that ship…
