Wouldn’t logic suggest to have a good impression of the game for starting out BEFORE moving up?
Hah, asking for logic here?

T1 is by far the worst balanced tier, simply because there’re almost no implants, modules, anything, just railguns in fighters, plasma in ceptors and lazors on frigates, everyone blows fast, everyone kills fast.
That tier is just an initiation, if you stay there you’ll have a bad time.
Lol…What kind of logic is this? You failed to prove your argument. If everyone is killing each other fast, I don’t see a problem.

Well, a guy who doesn’t leave t1 because of fear can’t see xxxx. I gave you enough arguments, if you refuse to accept them it’s ok, you can stay in the kindergarten if you want.
You say it’s balanced because you already know how to play and your enemies don’t, so you don’t have problems there, then you move up to t3 and above and you’re the one who doesn’t know how to play and gets screwed, then you go back to t1 and you’re confortable there. No implants, no modules, no variety of weapons and missiles, you don’t even have to think, I can understand you like that tier.
But you can’t just go and assume t3 is not balanced just because you’re bad compared to the players you find there.

I had my fair share in tier 3. I can honestly say that those who play in tier 2 and above relies heavily on modules to win. Not using modules is like taking a knife to a gunfight.
I rather have a knife to knife match. Hence why tier 1 is the most balance. Sometimes I win and sometimes I lose. So what? At least I’m not in a losing streak. Consider me a bad player, but rest assure my logic is most valid.

In above tiers you rely on your both skill and modules to win:
Because a bad player with good modules will still lose.
Because a bad build will make the game harder for you.
So in high tiers you need both individual and team skill, and knowledge about how to build a ship to be succesful, while in lower tiers, you just press launch buttom and forget everything. You can just have the default build and 1 point of sinergy and if you know already this game you can have an average of 8-10 kills per game.
And obviously you CAN’T be in a losing streak, in t1, where most of the battles have low numbers (below 10 players each team) just one or two players can be the whole difference.

Actually, T1 is a great tier for newcomers: Is easy, is funny, everything explodes, everyone attack head-on. At least my friends that I convinced to join, really liked the game thanks to that. Is from T3 onward that things start to get complicated, but unless we’re talking about a brainless player, it’s normal to adapt and learn to play it.
We need to fix the “core” of the game, and sadly to many people that don’t want to recognice it, it starts in T3.

Well I guess your right. But, I rather play pure skills than use both skill and modules to win. What your saying sounds like this game needs a genre change and call itself an RPG rather than an FPS.
Or better yet, FPS at tier 1. RPG elements from tier 2 and up.

The problem is that there, in t1 YOU play “pure skills” while your enemies, new, don’t, so it’s not balanced. Idk if I’m explaining it properly. The moment they have more or less a clue about the game, they’ll go to t2 (sometimes they go up even without a clue about what they’re doing), but you will stay there, already knowing how to play, welcoming more new guys and having easy games.
I’m not saying that what u’re doing is bad, but what I mean is: you can’t call t1 balanced because you’re the big fish of the pool, and t3 unbalanced because you’re eaten by sharks all the time.

Your right…New players don’t have a clue on how to play on there first game. They play on the first tier and I expect that.
I do on occasion win and lose. That’s where I’m getting my fun factor. I’m not all the time winning. Every tier 1 match is always a challenge. I either end up as MVP or at the bottom of the list because the enemy had great teamwork. I never had any complaints about one ship being better. So in my point of view tier 1 is balanced.

Then why are you posting? No one is asking for modifications in T1, it can stay as it is. And if it’s already balanced, I don’t get the meaning behind all your posts.

But your first point was (unless I’m wrong) that devs don’t care about t1… tbh no one should do, if it’s not broken let it be, t1 lasted 1-2 days for me, untill i learned what I was doing more or less, and that’s what happens with almost everyone imo.

Omg seriously? Did you not read my very first post or are you trolling? My argument was that tier 1 is balance and that’s why I stay in tier 1.
You should reread before trying to make me look like an idiot.
At least residente puts effort into staying with the original argument and I applaud that.

Well, you’re posting against the OP idea of the game being “killed”, argumenting that T1 is OK, ergo his views are wrong, while in reality the rest of the game ain’t, and even if there are some players like you that don’t want nor like to progress, the vast mayority wants to because the game was designed that way and progression is something logical and wanted, but there are plenty of things that need to be fixed in the game, and there are fixes to things that ain’t broken that kinda upset the playerbase.
If you wanted to let us all know that T1 is magnificent and you enjoy it, well, you did so, we got it, but the main problem isn’t T1, never was.

Congratulations, you proved my point. residente says the opposite which started this arguement in the first place.
Again I suggest reading the part (In my first post) that say “anything above t2 is broken”…
And you didn’t read that I already said T1 is fine, a couple of posts ago. It’s useless to derail the main topic, shall we cut this now?

I agree…lets
Re: Way to go on killing your own game
So, you realized it. It usually takes a few months, but new players soon hit a patch that screws them over too much to deal with. For you, it’s this one, for me it was months ago when they destroyed my camera. I could deal with a lot of the terrible ship changes, the ship roles and trees being broken and less fun. BUT, it’s nothing when you realize that whatever the game is, won’t stay too long.
As far as I can tell they’re trying to take it from a combat focused game (like World of Tanks, War Thunder) and transition it to an MMO (Like EVE, or somewhat like Star Citizen is promising).
Thus, as they go along they make changes and continually screw over what you grew to love about the game.
On the topic of snipers, back in my day they used to be pretty bad, actually. They can’t (don’t typically) cap objectives, and after their gun count nerfs they were usually worthless in close combat. Usually I loved it when I could go in and cap beacons while hiding behind them.
@Jovanify, you have yet to provide any logical or constructive argument on why T1 is balanced and why anything above T2 is not, all you did is stated some personal feelings nothing about game mechanics or features which are the game balance.
Take DoTA/Dota2/HoN as an example, these games are considered to be relatively balanced all around, there are lots of heroes, lots of items, lots of mechanics and features that create a unity called balance state of the game. There are heroes and there are counters to those heroes via other heroes or items or certain mechanics within the game-play, same goes with items, strategies all of it together creates a balance. Now, for a moment take out 80% of it out of the game, leave heroes with no counters, leave tactics with no counter-tactics, items with no counters - all of this will ruin the balance of the game, and people that are on the level of understanding the way the game works will see all of those imbalances. Same in star conflict T1 and T2 are limited versions of the game, a lot of stuff is not there to counterweight everything, but it is not visible to the new eye, what fresh players see is stars and explosions, that’s it. T3 is the place where most of the game is coming together and it is getting expended upon in t4/t5.
And again you have yet to state why T3 is imbalanced.
@Saikaici, they fixed camera long time ago. It is not reverted to the original half a mile zoom out, but it is pretty good.

A month or two after the camera change and a fairly large patch had gone out I tried it and it was still shoved up the back of my ships. Half of the reason I even liked this game was because the camera could go so far back and let me dogfight properly, as well as not have my ship take up a quarter of my screen… just sitting in my view.
In the case of War Thunder the close proximity is okay, because the planes turn slowly, and there really isn’t all that much going on. The dogfights in SC are much more fast paced and rely on being able to be able to not lose yourself. The extended camera let you see what you needed to see, the new limits don’t. It’s a small change for them to make, and it lost them a lot of players.
