I was playing invasion when I watched a pilot by the name of “Flint” kill every player once they had engaged aliens, pirates atc. that isn’t my question, my question is where did this pilot get a T5 Mark 5 shrapnel cannon? this is a weapon that is not listed as being able for anybody to build, so where did it come from? if this pilot is a developer, then I recomend you keep a watchful eye out and attack him before he waits until your engaged with another enemy and kills you. After this pilot killed me I looked at the combat logs, this pilot killed every player on the map with a weapon that is not available to the rest of us pilots.

Mk1-Mk4 modifications are accessed via regular means, you buy it, upgrade it with credits, vouchers, artifacts
In order to get mk5, you have to find the blueprint for that (drops in Invasion), then you have to collect quite a few materials and then you can craft upgrade to mk5 (you must have a mk4 version to up to mk5 too). There is mk5 upgrade for every module T3, T4, T5
P.S. Jump in efficiency from MK4 to MK5 is the same as mk3 to mk4, so it is fairly close in performance to what is awailabe via regular means without farming crafting materials.
FLinT, The most annoying player in invasion.
Flint has the lowest “karma” in the game, he is rank 1…
I dislike the guy, I dislike the game for having such an option of being the lowest karma.
I was sitting IN a warp gate, in a map I had just warped into, looking around to see the best path to pass to get to the next gate, when he attacked me, he had been cloaked, it was over in a couple of seconds, (I was in an Eagle I think), I didnt have time to press the relevent button to activate the gate and warp out… All he plundered from me was a fuel tank (lol), but guys like him are wasting other players time and efforts, searching for items, only to have them plundered at next to no effort on his behalf. A couple of hits with his guns and kenetic rockets, and I was toast, I didnt have time to respond, move, or gate out of the map… bloody annoying…
I thought, or had thought, that invasion was just an extention of PvE, as in, invasion was where all the PvE maps where leading too.
You don’t kill players in PvE, just NPCs.
I don’t want to kill players in PvE, to me, that is what PvP is for.
Anyway, I think having a rank table for NEGATIVE karma is a mistake, it only leads to trolls, like Flint, spoiling other peoples “Fun”.
As for Orange weapons, the increase in attack power is tiny, compared to purple, but still, it is an advantage.
Also, to what was said above me, incorrect, not all weapons have an orange option, you cannot get orange coil mortars in T3, only one orange weapon upgrade in available to frigates, out of four original weapons. You cant get Orange blasters, or Orange positron either…
yes yes, “Flint” is annoying, but the Invasion mode is supposed to be a mix of pve and pvp. You’ve got the Station protected sectors, if you don’t want what so ever pvp. (i know, they suck)
He’s like a Little predator, waiting for you to be distracted with a npc. If he’s on the map, watch out, or go straight for him and attack him.
Another Option would be to squad up and just eliminate him everytime he tries to disrupt your Group farming.
But, i can’t deny the fact, that Players like him, do spoil the fun of casual Players, that aren’t op in everything they fly. :001j:
Invasion might end up like eve online: 80 percent camp in secure space, some active Corps will hog the most precious sectors with good loot and blueprints and the rest of maps (low sec equivalent in EVE) will be avoided.
The best thing happened to me today during my boring daily missions for monocristal was been slaughtered just outside jerico sttsion. I was just spawn at the gate and watching the map, then my purple adaptive fully sinergized grey falcon melted in 3 seconds. He got his revenge, i understand and approve that. It’s part of game mode invasion, but i can also understand the frustation of random new pilots getting killed for no real reason. That’s lame, but happen in every game.
Anywa:y rumors tells that almost every module from t3 and above have it’s mk5 upgrade somewhere…

You can, you just have to find the proper blue print I think. So far I have just found tier 5 ones, but I think they have some tier 3 also around. Maybe not.
On griefing players: Invasion is supposed to be PvP and PvE all at the same time. To counter being killed by criminals, you can either go in groups, stay in station protection zones or just inform people in the general chat that somebody is messing with players in this gate and that sector. Maybe somebody will go there and kill him just for lulz.
Or maybe they will join him… you won’t know.
Anyway, you have more than half the map with station protection, even rank 10 sectors, so you don’t need to go to dangerous sectors. If you crystal daily mission spawns in a dangerous sector, I recommend going with a recon. It is the best ship for fast travel and escaping other criminals.
If you want a strict PvE scenario, those are the PvE scenarios you can select from the invasion window.
It’s also worth noting that only a few of the pilots in Invasion are genuine scum. Some are opportunists, but odds are if you make your intent known then you are probably safe. The best way to not be attacked in my experience is to announce “I’m doing a mission. Please don’t attack me.”
If all else fails, keep your distance from other people. Especially when in an Interceptor. People’s personal space typically extends about 3,000 to 4,000 metres off the hull. Get closer than that and they might decide you’re up to no good and get the first shot in.
Those covert ops that cloak, get in your back, and plasma arc + orion to kill you in a second… I hate those guys.
I think i would prefer the open world PvP if it was faction based.
Ie which ever faction yours contracted too currently is your team, as opposed to free for all.
tbh… sector conquest and open world pvp should be pretty much merged. eg if your faction controls the sector you get friendly npc patrols on your side in that sector.
If you don’t control that sector you get hostile npc patrols etc etc
It’s a blueprint. stop whining and go find one yourself.

I completely agree and it would fit better with the lore of the game. It would also be more logical than having to fight every single cyber/cartel etc in all zones. I mean I know we are mercenaries, but still

I agree. I don’t mind fighting other players, but i prefer to know up front they are hostiles. I also prefer when i can’t accidentally hurt friendlies while fighting off npcs.

And so it begins…
Hello people and merry Christmas . I must say that I am not a pilot who attack people in space but all who attacked me I attack when I see them . Ambush at warp gate I hold cowardice although I have nothing against pilots who attack pilots in space as they do so on fair play manner . As for FLinT once he attacked me, in unknown space, made an ambush at the door, with the help of those hunters killed me . I used the duplicator and destroyed him, got 10 gs, for destroying a pilot with the karma level -5 . It paid off . In conclusion hunting for FLinT is open , it’s worth it .
I also think there should be an option to establish some kind of “law”. I d think it funny if you could taggle some sort of “law officer” function when in this mode you go hunt criminals and get extra credits/synergy, while the loot goes back to original owners. That way good pilots could fight each other on botrh sides of the law and Aces would be protected a bit.

Wonderful idea, unfortunately this is an idea that would draw even more players out of the dwindling PvP population. I say efforts should be put on increasing the player base instead of improving Invasion. Once the player base is increased tenfold (at least), then Invasion developments could happen.
I never attack anyone on invasion unless they shoot me first,my invasion goal is search blueprints and help ppl not kill them…
4-5 days ago i think i did see flint with 2 corp mates waiting on gate new preys…They kill me very fast first (i was on loki) than i change to my coward tackler ship to hunt them , we start fight 3 vs 1 i died like 7 times flint died 3 times and others more , after couple minutes other 3 victims join my side than we start fight 4 vs 3 , i must say it was more fun than any other PvP modes and worth every duplicator i spend.
