Apparently you get a little less than half of the GS you would get if you spent an equivalent amount of cash on it.

Yep. I used a $50 gift card to a store I was never gonna go to and got 9677 GS, where I would’ve gotten like 18k spending the cash directly.
Not a bad transfer rate for them being gift cards.
