US EST player in search of an amicable group.

Howdy,

I’ve just picked this game up, after having tried the beta some time ago and walking away, i can see that it’s improved quite a lot, and that the community seems far happier with this than my last MMO fighter, MWO.  Starting with very early beta, i usually ran with the Reddit crowd and quite extensively with the Eridani Light Pony guys before getting fed up like most of the original player base shortly after “official release.”

I would love to find a crew of folks that shares my interests and personality, so if you or your corp were a part of any of those above mentioned circles in the old days, i’d certainly be happy to come and fly with you guys.  Otherwise, I think it’s worth  mentioning that i’m only two days old and 4-5 games in at this point flying interceptors, so i’m most interested in a real friendly environment where i can learn and develop.  I’ve been very successful in terms of kills and performance in the few pvp games i’ve played so far, but i couldn’t tell you why, so i certainly can’t say i’m very skilled or talented.  As such, i’m not really interested in a crew that’s going to be terribly judgemental in terms of my play style, or a crew that’s overly obsessive about what the “meta” is right now.

anyway, i dont want this to go on forever, so get back to me if you’re interested in adding an enthusiastic new pilot.  Play times are between 5pm and 8pm EST and during the day on the weekend.

Welcome back,

Since you seem new to the game and wish to learn and develop, I would suggest you have a look at Lampshadius Academy, they help new comer and is a great place to start.

Good luck !

Other NA corps include NASA (mostly US I think) and GArc (maple syrup eaters).

My corp, Gates of Darkness has a mixture of players from all over the planet, including from the USA, but we also have a large EU playerbase.  This is our corp’s forum thread so you can know a bit more about us: [http://forum.star-conflict.com/index.php?/topic/23603-gates-of-darkness-igodi/](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/23603-gates-of-darkness-igodi/)

Thanks for that Millanbel. I’ll certainly give it a look. If I drop by and fly a few rounds, would you prefer I had myself set up at a certain level with all three classes of ships? or is specialization a normal thing in this game? I’ve been focusing almost entirely on interceptors so far since I just like the increased speed so much more.

Try all the ship types in the game while you are in T2 (rank 4-6) and it is still cheap.  But if you are a good interceptor pilot, then that’s no problem   Many people favour interceptors because, like you, they like the speed.

Specialization is good, but so is versatility: it can help to bring out a particular ship class at a certain point in the game to counter what the enemy is doing.  For example gunships with high DPS to counter a frigball (large group of tanky frigates flying together).  For that reason I usually have one of each of interceptor, fighter and frigate in my lineout.
