Update makes Star Confilct not starting anymore

I had an automatic update and now the game does not start and does not even appear under the running tasks/applications. Ubuntu 12.04.

 

Another user said:

I ran it on Ubuntu 12.04 32bits for a while, but it seems that latest update of Star Conflict needs GLIBC_2.16 to run but Ubuntu 12.04 only provides GLIBC_2.15.

Starting it outside of Steam fails with following:
$ LD_LIBRARY_PATH=~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/lib/i386-linux-gnu/:~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/ ./StarConflict

./StarConflict: /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.16’ not found (required by ./StarConflict)

Let’s hope that Gaijin will provide a new version soon.

As you figured out Star Conflict depends on a newer Version of the GNU C Library and Ubuntu 12.04, SC and Steam doesn’t provide it.

 

There are two ways to solve this:

  1. You upgrade your Ubuntu distribution.
  2. Gaijin removes all the benefits of the new Library Version.

If you target the second solution, then Posting a Suggestion will be the way to go.
