Update makes Star Confict freeze for seconds

The problem is still there but it is back to its tame self before the update that caused it. It is bearable again but it has not been completely resolved.

With this update many make-up changes (like the shielding on the guard turrets in Federation space) has been made and they look quite nice thank you

But the new font for the “federation sector”, “Jericho sector” and “Empire Sector” in the map of the hangar has been rendered unreadable (see image) attachicon.gif2015-04-23_00002.bmp

My logs are as follows:

attachicon.gifgame.log attachicon.gifgame.net.log – I had to restart the game because sometimes it won’t give me access to the corporate shipyard declaring “a shipyard has not been built or located in another sector”

I know what you’re talking about. I don’t get this problem in free space / invasion and PvE, it’s fine. Only in PvP does this rare problem occur. What it appears to be like is when you’re rotating around a solid object the redrawing of the background slows down but not to the point of making you sick, it doesn’t actually drop frame rate, just the background loses definition and when it’s done it speeds up again.

I only see this once in awhile, can’t pin down what causes this or if it’s one of the active modules I am using that causes this detail overload, if you will. I’d say that within 1000m you don’t need to see the field in and around you, it could be fuzzy or allow the depth of field to encompass the ship’s viewport. So, anything not near the viewport doesn’t need to render fully, save in processing time on the GP-GPU.

I’d say over all it’s a really nice patch, Skula. It’s much improved from the previous 3 patches that started us out with Season 2 of Dreadnaughts.

I have noticed one thing, the DoF doesn’t position doesn’t get saved when you go into battle or relog, it’s reset to closest zoom on your ship. Would be nice at some future date to remember that positioning.

Thanks for getting this fixed, Skula, this means a lot to us that are using Linux.
