Unable to launch Star Conflict on Debian Jesse

I was contacted by a player that cannot launch Star Conflict on Linux. And since our forum anti-spam system requires him to play 2 games, he cannot post bug report. I requested if he can send me a bug report and he sent me the following (he followed the guide to the letter ;-)) :

  1. Can’t play Star Conflict on Linux

  3. At startup, tried both in-steam and from the command line

  4. I run the game, see glitched red boxes spinning on bottom right,
    see (for the first time) the first page of the game, with the EULA
    but I’m unable to press any button and after 3 seconds the game crashes:

Segmentation fault
…/…/code/tools/CrashReporter/CrashReporter.cpp(193):[INFO] Successfull send
…/…/code/tools/CrashReporter/CrashReporter.cpp(413):[INFO] Sending finished

I’ve tried everything I could find on the forums, trying running the game from steam or CLI gives same result.

There are lot of errors in your logs. Game can’t find resources. Try to reinstall or check/compare_with_Ubuntu game files folder

Hi Skula, 

Player did clear reinstall and it started to work. This case is now closed.
