Try before you buy or craft ships

I am sure a lot of us had bought or crafted ships we wish we hadn’t. I would like to be able to craft and test different configurations before finally settling on it.

To allow the test option I suggest the user get to go on a testing ground similar to vs ai, but 1 vs 5 or so to test the ship’s abilities.

The user would get no rewards of any kind other than the ability to test out the ship before buying or crafting.

The user would not have to have all the resources to make said ship. This would either give the user a reason to pursue this line or go a different route.

A few recent examples of why I think this option should be introduced. : I made an Antares and I have refitted it several times and lost a lot of credits for doing so, all to find a semi usable layout which I am still not happy with. I also made a Ronnin, and Mohir  I never use. If I had the chance to test these first I might have used those resources to make different ships instead.

The testing the ship or loaning before purchase is not bad on its own, problem is that without full access to all modules yo ucant really judge its effectivenes, passive modules are waht define the ship performance, hardly the ship itself

I’d love to have “trial ships” that I can buy with credits per day or something. That would be epic.

Definitely yes to premium ship test option.

Other craftable ship test option is not applicable, though. (At least not now)

 

Oh and because the question changed, my answer to 3rd question is now false. It would actually be a push.

And when testing ships, all modules should be available. (Like special modules)

Even if this is already a bit “old” but i would at least like to see this for the crafted ships where you can give your own module setup.

I would like to have the option of saying i wanna test the setup i have in mind before crafting the ship just to find out that the setup is “crap” i need to sell and rebuild the ship to “find a better setup”.

Espacilly in terms of the destroyers that are insane farming ships before you even can fly them cus you need tons of Neodium and Berylium (for the R11 one) just to craft the structures. I really would like to see an option at least for these ships cus more or less they will become some sort of “main ship” in the end after all the invested time and i´m already terrified when i have seen that i need nearly 320 neodium ore just to craft the needed 32 neodium plates for the R8 structure.

Aside from the farming it also needs an win of the mission cus open space should be an horror to find it witout of the spatial scanner as much as i have heared after an longer break (nearly 3 years).

Don’t waste time in open space looking for neodium/berilium with a spatial scanner. It is hopeless. My humble opinion It’s better to play PVP/PVE/COOP to get those resources. Also I only recommend destroyers, any, for open space and special operations. Forget them for competitive game modes against humans. I mean PVP, sector conquest…

 

Btw, refactoring craftable ships cost only money, righ? At last after you build a destroyer changing the setup cost only money.

Manufactured ships can be refitted for credits and can’t be sold, Open Space is good if you need materials, spatial scanner not so much these days, go for rank 11 destroyers if you want the best bang for a buck.
