"trade" chat

The trade chat is a spam-fest where nothing of use happens. Please separate the “want to sell” and “want to buy” in to different windows so that maybe players can post items they want, and people can automatically send them the item as long as they have the gold. Same in reverse for the sale part.

Basically say if I wanted a Vacuum Resonance Laser Blueprint, I could make a listing under “buying” for the item and have a maximum price I would pay for it. Then sellers can send me the item and I can confirm the purchase.

Also please stop calling it a “trade” system. It is a player market and there is no trading happening at all as long as an external non-item currency is used. If you wish to say “trade” then let players send and item for an item.

" Trade involves the transfer of goods or services from one person or entity to another, often in exchange for money. A system or network that allows trade is called a market.

An early form of trade, barter, saw the direct exchange of goods and services for other goods and services…"

But of course this does not change the fact that trade chat is a mess.

That’s one of those definitions that originated 38477393 years ago and was never refined.

“Trade” in terms of goods involves the exchange of items for other items between two people.

“Purchase” in terms of goods involves the exchange of a standardized currency for items between two people.

You don’t go to Walmart and say “I’ll trade 50 dollars for this basket of miscellaneous items.”

And still, when you work and get a salary, you trade your time, skill and experience for a standardized good, namely money (in most cases) and not for potato or such.

Anyway, I am not against it to be called Market. Even during translation I renamed it to market in my native language, although, only because the translated trade was too long and didn’t fit into the dimensions of the button.
