Total Computer Shutdown (Kernel Panic)

Below are the EXACT detailed results from the crash, created by the game, which caused the computer to shut down suddenly and without warning. This happened “randomly” when i was flying my new jericho guard. Nothing special, just firing weapons and randomly while firing this happened

The mac version in deep space however has had issues with weapons fire before (in the mining site, several ships wouldnt fire on command, and instead froze the game instead of firing.) So i am seriously thinking that there is a severe bug with the game’s weapon systems.

Mac version is borderline unplayable. Too many issues

You’re better off playing on bootcamp

I will counter straight up as someone with enough hours on the Mac client. The problem is not the game, it’s the Mac. This game runs pretty hot and if you do not have SMC Fan Controller installed and ramp up your fans most iMacs can’t keep it below overheat temps for 2+hrs. That’s before we start talking MBPs. I have a Mac Pro with a aftermarket 750ti connected and it runs flawlessly every time.

Make sure you have frame limiter in your options set to max 61fps. I sometimes prefer 45 because a consistent framerate is far better to play with than one that shoots up and down and lags accordingly. Frame limiter keeps you from creating extra heat making frames that will never be sent to your display.

That’s one issue you mentioned. SC on mac has a lot more

random crash and kernel panic being among some of those issues.

So yeah, SC is likely the problem in OP’s case.

I’ve played diablo 3 with max graphics for hours on the same MBP (on macOS)

Also played GTA V under bootcamp, again with high settings. Never had overheat issues
