Too much downtime during battles.

First off, let me just say that this game is looking to be a top notch game, proper stellar. However I do have one niggle about combat at the moment.

If I’m understanding correctly, you go into battle with three ships, one large, medium and small. When one ship is destroyed you get to choose a different ship and go in that. However, especially for new players who only have one small ship, this creates a lot of time where they may get picked off early for whatever reason, and then have to sit and wait untill the battle is over before being able to start another match. This means a lot of waiting if you’re not so good at the game.

This could be fixed by allowing players who have been completely knocked out of a battle to start queuing again (after they have repaired and such), but this may create problems if your team wins and you need to look for your loot (which is a great concept btw). A way around this could be forfeiting the rewards if your team wins. The EXP and Rep gains can just be added when the battle finishes with no problems (i would think?).
