I always brought 4 ships for all of my ship slots.
Some people did not. They got only 1 ship out of 4 available slots.
Summary for the Matchmaker:
Matchmaker should demand 4 ships in the ship slots now, at all times.
Without them, you should not be able to start the matchmaker in Tier III - optional, IV and V.
Tier I and II has no such requirements.
Additionally, each ship must be fully equipped with at least mark 1 modules, weapon, and equipment.
Ammunition should also be considered and missiles as well.
Same mechanics should apply for Tier III, but with 3 ship slots and only, if you haven’t unlocked it yet by rank 12. If you did, then all 4 ship slots must be equipped.
Just put up realistic at one ship per person, one life, and it’ll be perfect. None of this “You must bring four ships to the new tier!” nonsense. (Of which some people will only have one when starting a tier)
No, just limit everyone to one ship for truly realistic matches; Those will be the most fun.

That’s all.

i like the idea, but unfortunately, t5 queue might suffer.
Instead, matchmaker should balance the ships on each side as evenly as possible. as in no more than 1 ship advantage.
Edit: wait a minute! what if each player were to have 4 lives and could choose any of his ships for those 4 lives? That would balance it out nicely.
no one is stopping you from sitting in a hangar and playing rock paper scissors already
Ah, you’ve noticed? I’ve actually been logging on with my tablet recently. It’s able to play the game, but it is troublesome to handle; even using a frigate is hard, so I’m reduced to only using my guards. haha
I am disgusted by the number of scrubs present. While yes, it might drive people from the queues, encountering players with only 1 or 2 ships on either side is not fun.
One-Life matches are too short, aside from being largely decided what class you bring. We already spend enough time in queue already as it is, after all - I welcomed dreadnoughts for not being over after 4 minutes like a bad pop song.
Btw, noone is forcing anyone to exclusively bring t4/5 into the matches - a good ship of the tier below you are already familiar with and have better gear on might just perform better than that wolf mk 2 you just bought.
I like the ctb gamemode, but I can’t fully enjoy it because of this issue, and the problems of finding games in the respective tiers.
It is my suggestion that T4/5 queue give you a friendly message to equip a full complement of ships - be it 3 or 4, whatever your capacity is - and to not be afraid of putting in good ships from the tier below if one is short.
