I’ve been thinking of possible sollutions for the low population in tier 1 and something just came into my mind. As I see, from the numbers of new players applying to my corporation every day, there are plenty of newcomers around. Unfortunatelly, it is extremely hard for them to find a battle and they might spend their first few and so important hours in game with waiting and finding very little entertainment. So, to solve this problem let ’veterans’ play in tier 1 pvp too with a few adjustments:
Players that reached tier 2 should not get/should get lowered effectiveness points for participating in tier 1 pvp battles. This way new players would have a chance to get to the first place and get good feelings about the game.
Both sides should contain equal number of veteran players.
If new players (with tier 1 ships only) destroyed a ship with maximum synergy level, they should get increased points/rewards.
Veteran players should not be allowed to use higher level equipments than mk.2. Equipments above mk.2 level should be lowered automaticaly.
The reward of vetaran players should be credits and mentoring achievements.
These are only a few of my ideas but I tried to keep it ’simple and easy to implement’. So, what do you think about it?
I like it. Either way in the current system, mentoring is useless.
I think veterans should have to use white modules and have a damage reduction though. There is such a huge difference in skill level that even green modules will be enough for it to be unbalanced. The veteran should be really hampered.
And I think veterans should not be allowed to fly in t1 unless they are in a squad with their recruit.
im cool with the mk2 modules, notice that new players have dmg and resistances bonuses (35%/pts i believe) wich would help balancing even more if vets can only use mk2 stuff.
I still think they should use white modules. Just the fact they know how to play gives enough advantage, and most t1 players won’t be using purple mods.

IMO grouping up is not necessary. That would slow queue down. But mk.1 modules for vets is fine. More chance to down a vet, more chance for satisfaction, more chance to keep newbies.
Nice idea. Add in what Mill said, and it’s a wonderful suggestion in my eyes.
Thx.
