three mismatches in a row

I know MM isn’t perfect and has to compensate for the lack of players sometimes. But last/this night it went too far.

I queued with a friend (2man squad) with ship no higher than rank6 each had 3 ships. I had SR just below 1200 and his was around 1060 or so .

1st match (were queued in Queue 29) was against 4 man squad from Nerds we had on our side a 3 man squad (maybe there was a forth not from the same corp couldn’t tell).

Nerds were all around SR 1200+ , the 3man squad on our team was SR 1000+

We lost as expected.

2nd match (were queued in Queue 29) the same Nerds squad on the other team, on our team I couldn’t tell if there was a 3man squad or higher at least they didn’t play cohesive and didn’t stick together well and most players on our team were below SR 1100.

We lost as expected.

We waited several minutes in the hope not to get matched the same way but here it comes:

3rd match (were queued in Queue 28!) the same Nerds squad on the other team, on our team the same thing players not that high in SR and maybe not even a 4man squad + weak team play = loss

Pointless! This was more than frustrating this is pissing me off. I don’t mind losing but this predictable epic failure and 3 times in a row is just beyond broken MM. We had around 1000 players online the queue didn’t look that small/empty. I  know for sure the 3rd match was not supposed to be matched with the Nerds squad winning at least 3 times in a row where they would have been put up one queue higher and we were one queue lower when we first encountered them. I had better MM’s with less players online in the past.

Oh I almost forgot. On top of that in the 2nd match I tried to use the gates to jump to the middle not just once, or twice but FIVE F… TIMES and didn’t warp me, it must have looks funny me circling through/around the gate like an idiot. We were on a Russian server, ping was 260ms and had some lag (but no packet loss).

I don’t blame anyone but MM for these lost matches. I don’t have anything against Nerds and it’s certainly not their fault.

I played in a 4 man squad a week ago with players that had SR better than me but also in T2, after every 3 wins we got one queue higher so we went from Queue 29 to 35.

If you are wondering what Queue 29 etc. means and MM is supposed to match check this thread the first post:

1st game I kinda fail to see where exactly was the problem, and what do you think should have happened.

there is almost no difference in “Skill Level” in range of 1050-1250 so I fail to see why would you expect to lose 1st game, especially considering you were 3+2+RandomMen v 4+RandomMen. Even if you face 4 man ESB in 4v4 game, never go into the game with “I expect to lose attitude” it will contribute to your loss every single time.

2d/3rd Same thing

P.S. according to your description, those matches did fit into current matchmaking logic

It is all my fault, I shouldn’t have played Star Conflict. I don’t argue with you about MM as it is pointless and waste of time.

Guys…I think that his point is that he got 3 ROUNDS IN A ROW with the same squad, even though they were a different squad size.  Personally, I get upset any time I wait for a game and get matched in a game with less than 5 players on each team…having that happen 3 times in a row with the same enemy team that has beaten you before would get pretty annoying.

That said, i agree that you should prepare yourself mentally for each battle and go in with a proper mind-set that you are going to win.  But of course, their higher skill ratings signified that they have a higher (basically) kill/death ratio.  However, those skill ratings do not mean that the players will perform exactly what their number represents.  For example, My skill rating is hovering around 1300 right now, but there are games where I’ll do terrible and games where I’ll do fantastic.  Honestly, that difference usually hinges on how the rest of my team is doing.  If everyone is staying together and playing smartly, I normally do quite well.  The opposite is true for a bad team.

Find your niche (a ship that suits you well) and play that ship to the best of its ability.  Message me if you want tips/tricks.

I had my fair share of good and bad games. I always try to win but in a 2man squad you sometimes cannot make a difference. I know SR doesn’t mean they are better it just means they killed more and died less. BUT SR is used in match making!

I don’t know if MM calculated correctly or not. I don’t have enough information to be sure because I don’t see who was in a squad and I didn’t write down all details of all players that are used for match making. But it seemed odd and especially didn’t make sense in the 3rd match, so that is why reported it.

If some from the devs that has access to server logs (if they even haven logs that show more information than the logs I have) can take a look and explain what happened or show/proof that everything was fine, that is all I ask.

Arguing with other players but these matches who certainly don’t have more information than me is pointless because they cannot prove me wrong and I can’t 100% proof I’m right.

All I am saying that I did not understand what is an issue in your opinion, when some one is making a report, he has to think that something is wrong, and i am trying to get what it is exactly?

Getting in the match with other squads, that particular squad, ship ranks, match size and so on?

If you get a really bad match, wait five minutes before queuing again.  Queue times are generally less than that, and most other people will instantly reenter the queue if they had a good match or just want to play and hope.  By waiting five minutes, the members of the last match will be queued again together and you’ll get a different group since your queue time should end before their current match ends.

I often wait between matches, or just play a match here or there.

We waited around 5 minutes but didn’t help.
