Yeah I see your point. There are only a few ships I will use in pvp and anything under r13 is not it…
And I didn’t take ingame screenies bc the resolution from my camera is still far superior to steam’s awful screenshots. It doesn’t even take per-pixel screenies.

you do realise that your camera resolution has nothing to do with how awful crappy your pictures look?
You do know star conflict has ingame screenshot capability that makes them in .png? How do you think people are making all those high res screenies?

It does, but steam refuses to let me use that function for whatever reason. If I want super hi res screenies I have to window it and print screen the old fashioned way, and even that only works when SC isn’t the active window. XD
All I ever wanted in a screenshot was the actual pixels. Nothing more, nothing less. But apparently that’s impossible.

Star Conflict has a dedicated button to make screenshots, they have nothing to do with steam, it will be saved localy

This, or you can use Windows built-in screenshot program called Snipping Tool, but you would have to run the game in windows mode. I only take outgame pictures to show my rig setup. Unless your computer graphics look like this, you should take in-game screenshot.

Every keyboard ever (maybe not on macs) has a “print screen” button that records actual pixels. The highest definition you can get. Ingame screenshots look like they were compressed or some awfulness.

Yes they are pixels. But they are not actual pixels. The edges are not sharp and the icons are blurred. Actual pixels would leave perfect definition of the subject such as this:

Apparently my device was scaling the images (like no decent device should EVER) so I wasn’t seeing actual pixels. It seems that somehow you’ve managed to get actual pixels recorded. Teach me your ancient ways, oh magical one.
My screenshot keys for steam and SC are separate but for some reason it always uses steam screenshots. And even though there is a setting for “save an uncompressed copy of image” (which I am bewildered at why that is ever unchecked) I still get compression. My images look like they were converted to gif twice before they were saved officially.
