Well , this is how i try to get rid of them when they orbit me.
A: look out for my next near mate and fly towards him. So he can shoot at the angles which are dead for you
B: searching for walls Or astroids , to protect at least one side of my fat body. So the orbiter has less angles to attack from
C: sounds weird but start flying backwards , so your front becomes your rear. Sometimes the enemy flies then direct infront of your guns.
D: use warpgate to catch some breath and may be some help.
E: when the enemy only tickles you , so doesn’t make enough dmg to kill you , well then just ignore him. ( is more an example for a Guard Frig , but happens sometimes with my engi too )
F: when you are completly alone , then you did smth. wrong . Never fly too far away from backup. A Lone engi is feast for the wolves.
Just pray . A mistake i still do sometimes
Ps: This shouldnt be an advice which works 100% , a rly good Intrceptor knows when he is loosing or its getting to dangerous and starts to make the Roadrunner and comes back later or just got the right timing to finish you in just one devastating attack. And im just a medium-player , so may be someone else got a bigger bag of tricks for an engi
You may also want to consider taking the implants that allow you to turn on axis quicker. I’ve also found that reducing speed can help me turn quicker (but also make it easier to be hit). A lot depends on how good of a pilot the interceptor is, too, as good ones will never give you a chance.
Understand that you *are* at a disadvantage and depending on the circumstances it may not be possible to escape. Seriously, flying with the group or with squad mates is the best protection I’ve found.
