Well, Me, personally play games for fun, but sometimes competitive is fun!
I enjoy squad play more than solo, but I get easily bored if not faced by even opposition.
I switched to LoL for awhile and when we play 5 men ranked game and we get matched with scrubs it is boring 20 minute game. Not to mention I play a role that farms the first 15 min with some exceptions. I just feel like a waste of time, same with SCon
But when we are matched in 5 vs another organized 5 men team (5v5 and solo/duo que are separated ones) of our skill level then it gets fun. How to outsmart them, how to trap them into turning the tides our way, or even when fighting higher skilled ones. It promotes thinking, strategy, split second decisions and this is fun for me, not wiping scrubs for some imaginary stats like DSR or league points or w/e.
I like the old times when we were the only ones (maybe NASA too, but they were in other time zone) who actively opposed ESB. It was fun to see 4 WPK on one side and 4 ESB on another. Sometimes we got outsmarted, sometimes we outsmarted them. Because in this game you can trap/bait average player, but not ESB it seems.

They are watching cooldowns very carefully, each time they don’t have enough disables available they fall back slightly. Very disciplined fighting.

Meh, people are just jealous that the Wolfpack never loses. Here’s why:
If we win, we win. If it looks like we lost we were playing to different rules than you so we actually won. Even then, if we’re beaten we just come back and beat you later (and harder) so we still win. If we die, we’re dead so that doesn’t count because you can’t prove to us that we lost.
