Could you give a short description of your different squadrons ?

I’m sure I’m not the only one curious to know more.

@Kine we’re working on lore and background stories for the squadrons, but this will take a while to fully develop.

I can give you one on mine.

 

We are, simply put, the Support for any fighting group on the field. We provide the debuffs, we stun them at your leisure, we apply Area Denial on Beacons/Stations, we heal your sorry xxxx so you don’t waste money on clones and provide you the ability to move faster and shoot harder. We don’t need to kill, we’re there to make sure we win.

I am sick of 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 realistic matches even vs T5s … RAWR …

And that’s on my R11s, no R12 equipped.

And to Elaborate : “Star Wolves” is inspired from another space game.

There you have a crew of few (2 at first, but up to 6 at the end) and fly around doing pirate stuff in a frigate carrier.

Although 4 would’ve been nice with old system.

Anyway … There basically the pilots fly their interceptors, have different skills and roles.

Later in the game you can buy them larger ships, so may count as fighters.

They do hit and run (docking in frigate repairs) and protect their frigate carrier.

If the pirate ships weren’t so useless now I imagine it as the pirate Engineer with sai and some other 2 around it.

 

Although the idea of Star Wolves is to ideally have 2 inti 1 engineer and do something like in the game.

Either hit/kill, then go back or slowly advance and protect their carrier.

Wiki got the name wrong, Black Widows was the fan club not officially affiliated to the team.

 

* also ignore the last paragraph. wiki contributor is an idiot or worked for PJ City Hall or more likely both. Team was dissolved amicably by the State ‘Congressman’ with the club’s reluctant agreement to resolve an awkward situation within City Hall. An old by-law written back in the 60’s - 70’s empowered the club to receive advertisement revenues payable to the city on it’s behalf. Idea was to make the football team self sufficient and independent of City’s budget. But ofcourse in 2003 said revenue was in the mega millions and not alot of people were aware of it until we took over management.

 

We pulled an Abramovich during our term and practically signed the national team into the club lol. It was epic while it lasted.

Also, additional info about the squads exists on the teamspeak - within the description of the channels. As much as we could so far, anyway - as it’s still a relatively new concept and people are still getting used to the concept.

 

We plan on creating some lore surrounding the corporation over time. Outside grinding synergy and getting the whole corp to T5, competing in the tournaments and generally enjoying the game itself.

T3 is in a pretty decent place, match wise.

 

I have several objections to T1 - starting with the lack of tactical options/modules and ending with the potential damage to ‘new’ players being completely face rolled by corp squads of corporations which quite frankly have no business in the ‘beginners’ tier(s).

 

I feel ya on the T4/5 thing, though. Sometimes it’s great, but most of the time it’s quite painful at the moment. The game advertises large scale combat and then introduces a match making algorithm which splits the community at the upper tiers in tiny matches just to appease a handful of T5 players.

 

I’m not a fan of this - I’d prefer an outright split of the tiers, or at least complete segregation of T5 (endgame) from the rest of the match making.Have nobody to play with? Tough. My squad was in this boat just last night when we queued a combo of R12 and T5 ships and there quite literally was nobody to play with. We simply dropped to T4, the community is just not ready for the T5 content at a larger scale.

I agree EvilTac, we simply do not have enough players, and the people that want to get up to higher teirs are being curbstomped by corporations or advanced squads.

And synergy progression, remember. Right now it is the sole reason i am not in T4 yet. Only 1 MK1 ship there across the board.

I have almost all trees in R10, the entire Empire in R11 and several ships R12 and still don’t fly it that often.

 

The small matches and match making vs full R15’s kind of ruin it for me there.

 

If anything I found the old matches and squads already too small for my personal taste (the engine supports at least 16vs16 as well as much larger squads, I’d love to see 5-man squads, perhaps even 6 - and bigger matches to compensate.) The recent development to both smaller squads *and* smaller matches is not something I find entirely enjoyable. I’ll hang out in T3 a lot until that changes. Even though I literally have no synergy left to level there at all.
