Sorry if this isn’t in the right bug forum, but none of them seemed appropriate so I just guessed. I’ve micro warped my recon interceptor into beacons, asteroids and structures, but I have yet to get the Thud medal. It’s supposed to be awarded for dying by crashing into something, but it seems to be bugged and unobtainable, unless I’m missing something.
In invasion no medals are obtainable. Just for reference.
But I have noticed this as well. I have crashed many a time but not gotten a single one. There is also this annoying new feature that automatically takes you out of warp if you are going to crash in to something. I really hate this because I used to warp-ram people all the time.

I don’t even know what invasion is.

Open Space. Invasion was the old name for it.
I don’t believe you can get Thud medals in PvE, Dreadnoughts, or Open Space.
If you have logs of your games where you get such crashes but are not awarded a medal, you should attach them to the original post.

That post doesn’t say where the logs are located in Windows 10, but next time it happens I’ll try to find the log on my own. Other than the logs I gave all the information that I have. The only thing I didn’t say was what ships I was flying, which doesn’t seem relevant since it happened on multiple ships so that rules out a bug with the ship itself. It’s happened in multiple ships, in multiple maps, in multiple PvP modes, and against multiple objects. It’s not exactly hard to reproduce since it doesn’t seem to be working in any circumstances whatsoever. My report was more than sufficient. If you want me to be a black box tester filling out test cases my rate is $30 an hour.

Thanks for the explanation. Being a new player I don’t know the old names for things. It did happen in PvP for the record. Most recently I was trying to get to a domination beacon first and turned off the micro warp a split second too late, ran right into the beacon. The time before that there was a tiny asteroid the size of my interceptor hiding somewhere dark and I warped into it because I couldn’t see it in time. That was in team death match or whatever this game calls it. I didn’t know the game kept logs. Most don’t. Now that I know I’ll try to find the log next time it happens.

Logs are in Win 10 in the same location as under Win7 or Vista( %HOMEPATH%\Documents\My Games\StarConflict)

Found it, thanks. The full path is C:\Users\InsertUsernameHere\Documents\My Games\StarConflict\logs for anyone interested.

%HOMEPAth% is an Emvironment variable that always points to your home/user folder, so you dont ahev to write your username youself coz it is “in” this variable
I’m trying my best to get a log, but the game won’t let me. The first game it made me team captain. The second it was so ridiculously laggy that my warp kept instantly canceling as soon as it started. I’ll try this again.
Edit: Of course the one time I’m purposely trying to crash is the time it actually gives me the medal. I’ll try one more time. If it doesn’t work this time I’ll have to assume there’s a sadistic dev somewhere turning it on and off just to mess with me.
Edit 2: I know what the problem is. They made it so it cuts off micro warp before impact. I’m having a hard time even running into anything now. It must be when you crash while warp is still active that it doesn’t work.
Now that the server isn’t stopping me from warping into things anymore it’s happening again. It only happens when you hit something in warp or right after leaving warp. If there’s enough time between you leaving warp and impact you get the medal normally. I have logs this time.
